I am new to the club and am a novice driver when it comes to high speed. I just got my high speed license and SCCA regional license having completed the Skip Barber race school. I have an '04 ZO6 and want to keep up my skills. Aside from cart racing indoors in Sterling, can anyone give me advice along these lines??
I'll probbaly continue to ask silly Q's like this for quite a while...so bare with me...

Nothing silly about 'track time'. [:D]
A number of us try to get as much track time in as we can...
One good way is 'Seat Time' at Summit Point. BSR, Inc. (http://www.bsr-inc.com/SCHEDREC.HTM) has FATT (Friday at The Track) and Seat Time. They haven't posted their 2005 schedule yet.
FATT has four run groups, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Instructors. Novice and Intermediate have instructors in the car with them and classroom training. Advanced are normally on the track by themselves.
Seat Time is just for the Advanced run group and gets plenty of track time for the money.
Other groups that have track days are NASA, THSCC, PCA, BMW and Mazda Drivers.

This guy's a ringer! [:))]
Another Z06 with some experience. We're glad to have you.
Watch this forum, download a track schedule. Someone from this club is likely to be involved in any event w/in a couple hundred miles.

Welcome aboard! As a matter of fact, a group of us are heading to VIR this coming Feb 19-20 as part of a NASA event (www.nasaracing.net). You might want to check this out. Their high performance driver education (HPDE) is first rate with 3, 20 minute track sessions (with in-car instructors) per day with classroom instruction in- between. The weekend cost is $299. It's only $40 for a one-year membership to NASA and you get the Grassroots Motorsports magazine as the official NASA publication. Not a bad deal. You can join and sign up for the events online.
You've come to the right club if you're interested in track events and "asking silly Qs" . [:D]
