Pick 3 and they will tell you if you don't get your first choice. I normally use 11 but at the last event this year they made me change.

This year I will just go with 111.

HPDE1 fills fast so you need to get registered ASAP.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm registered as an instructor, and am bringing the Vette.

[B-)] I sent Jack (JaxVette) an email to let him know.

Are you going down for all 3 days or just Sat & Sun?

I was actually surprised that it opened up already. I was thinking after the 1st of the year.

I haven't signed up for Friday, but I could... I probably just use Friday to get there.

Ralph and I are doing Friday just to get the Instructor Clinic I under our belts.

Jack says he's coming in Friday evening and will meet us for dinner. I think he said he is going to stay in the Hampton Inn (should be the right across the street from where we ate last year).

I haven't made my reservations yet... I'll check out both places and see which one has the best rates. I liked the Holiday Inns all night coffee bar and breakfast bar. [B-)]

Hi Rod and welcome to the NVCC forum!

NVCC is the Northern Virginia Corvette Club sponsored by Koons Chevrolet of Tyson's Corner. {a National Council of Corvette Clubs, NCCC sanctioned Corvette club)

Besides the Rallys, Cruises, and Shows we also autocross and a few of us do high speed track events.

NASA (http://www.nasaracing.net/) is the National Auto Sport Association.

HPDE (http://www.nasaracing.net/trackday/index.shtml) is a High Performance Driving Event and the classes are based on experience.

HPDE1 (novices) fill up fast, the event in February probably not as fast due to the weather.

To register for a NASA event you must be a NASA member, which you can do from their website.

Basically as a Novice or Intermediate you will have an instructor in the car with you as well as attending class room sessions. You will be on the track with a number of other cars in your group but it is not racing.

The NVCC meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at Koons in Tyson's. Come on out to one of the meetings and introduce yourself.

Thats the short form. [:D] Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions or would like more info.

Again welcome to our forum.

No problem. Always happy to help get another 'vette owner hooked on the track. [:D]

December is the only month that the NVCC doesn't have a general business meeting (4th Tuesday). The council meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The next GBM will be the 25th of January. The meetings start at 7:30pm but most of us start showing up around 7:00 to say 'Hi'.

NASA Virginia isn't having another 'local' one until June 11-12 Summit Point Raceway but that one is on the Shenandoah circuit. Probably NOT one of the best choices.

The first one on the Main course is July 16-17. On the other hand take a look at the NASA Ohio-Indiana schedule!

I'm planning to sign up after Jan 10th for all three days. I still need to get the new clutch/pressure plate in and new tires on before I'll be ready. The tires are on backorder (since 10 Dec) but I'm sure they'll be here and I'll have Joe M. do the clutch.

BTW, Woodsie are you out there? Will you be joining us??

We need Rick and John, too.

I'm in for Sat-Sun. Anybody with hotel plans? Might be too cold to sleep inthe Explorer, RW.

Since I'm going up Thursday night, I plan on getting a hotel room. Mike, which hotel are you staying at?

That's too bad, Bill...I have a few things to do myself although it costs $$$ and will have go slowly and do without for a while:

prothane bushings
rd racing crossbar/fire ext. mount/ext.
in which case I'd also need harnesses
set of wheels w/ tires that stick would be nice

Thankfully I have my own helmet; none of the loaners fit. I'll have to come up with a temporary fire ext. mount to my passenger seat track before I can afford all the right stuff.

Where are people staying? I did a hotel search on Orbitz and found a Days Inn in Danville for $51/night. I need to go cheap here if I do this at all.[$-)]

Radiator hose clamps, the screw type work fine to hold the fire extinguisher to the passenger seat frame.

I think most of us will be staying in Danville. I haven't made my reservations yet. Probably be a good idea to do that. Andrej and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last year. It was very reasonable. Don't know if it was the Government rate on just normally reasonable.

Autozone :yesnod: Make sure that you can reach it from the driver's seat with the seat belt fastened.
