We need to get the details on this event finalized so that we can get it publicized. Anyone who has input or has interest in participating is welcome.
It should probably be best for this week or next due to the holidays. We can have the meeting at my office in Fairfax (centrally located).
To start the ball rolling how is this Wednesday evening @ 7:00pm?
Address is:
2750 Prosperity Ave.
Suite 400
Fairfax, VA 22031
This is about a block from the Merrifield Post Office.

I forget what the limit is, but meal meetings are allowed, have done it before and gotten reimbursed without a problem. Somehow I don't think pizza will come close to that limit.
I like plain old cheese pizza, but I'll just pick off my toppings and throw them on your slice, Mike [:))] [:p]
Since 'da NCCC Guv' will also be in attendance, I would like to doublecheck the dates of sanctioned events for the 2005 calendar so I know where we're at...

The regular council member limit is $25.00 but Jeff K.'s is $250.00.
Now that's A LOT of pizza. [;)]

I received an email from Kirk DeNee asking that the meeting be for next week.
Would that work out better for everyone, more time to schedule it in?

I can if it's necessary...as long as it's next Wednesday or beyond. Monday and Tuesday night next week are busy for me (remember, Council Meeting is next Tuesday, folks!)

Next week is going to busy as well. MWCSCC meeting on Monday night, NVCC council meeting (do we have a GBM this month?).
Sounds like Wednesday night, 15th will work though.

Mike,
See you there, next Wednesday the 15th @ 7pm at your office. I'm kind of on the otherside of the fence right now, haven't seen any numbers $$$ what this event is going to cost, who pays, how many do we expect to sign up, how many do we need to break even etc. Hope this is what the meeting is about. I didn't work Rosecroft for all the money to go towards a track day at Summit.

It's not a track day per se, but rather a driver education event, so that more members can learn about high speed driving and obtain their HS licenses. I am certain that there will be a cost that people who sign up have to pay in order to attend the event.
NCCC has determined now that simply attending 10 LS autoX will NOT qualify someone for a HS cert. Personally I have to agree and think it is a good idea.

Those questions and others are what I'm hoping to get asked and answered. The meeting isn't a briefing to provide this information, it is a forum to discuss what will and won't work and to iron out the details.
I'm looking to have a safe, productive event. One that will offer a number of people the opportunity to qualify for their NCCC high speed licenses at a reasonable cost.
If the event increases the pool of people possibly attending Spooktacular by 10 - 15 I'll be satisfied.

Mike,
I'm going to try and make it next week. I thought that we had talked about waiting until the begining of the year to do this? Is there some new developements, and are we also going to discuss the Rosecroft events that we want to do also?

Andrej and I were talking at the All Sports Go-Kart event and we really need to get the details finalized on this so that we start getting it out to the different clubs, groups, etc. The sooner we get this out the better chance we will have of getting enough instructors and being able to fill the slots.

Agreed...plus I would love to have some NCCC event dates more solidified for next year so that I can work the club social calendar around it all.

Well...since the whole "Andrej can't make it on the 15th so we might do the 16th" post a page back, I banked on the 16th and planned my schedule around it...I hafta go out of town briefly the 15th and was planning on returning the 16th to attend the meeting that is now staying on the 15th. [:((]
So I can't go...and...bring pizza...unless by some miracle you moved it to the 16th. Sorry guys, but I had to do what I had to do. [:(]

Nope, Andrej calls bingo on Thursday nights for Ruritan (sp) so Thursdays are out.
Final email went out... the meeting stays on the 15th. I kind of figured it might be tough getting people together at this time of year anyway.

Well we had a very productive meeting this evening and we had quite a turnout. Quite a bit was decided and we have a good start on organizing the event.
Ralph will be starting a thread up with details and we will putting out the minutes of the meeting.
There is still a lot to accomplish but I think we have a good start.
I want to thank everyone that came. Together I think we can pull off another great event.

The schedule itself is where I am having the dilemma. Trying to work four sessions into a 9 hour day with an hour off for lunch and a 10 minute break between sessions is impossible unless you drop one or more sessions down to 15 minutes of track time.
