View Full Version : December 4, 6PM: Cart Racing hosted by the SCOA Mid-Atlantic Region
From title: in the past, I have brought a group of Vettes to race (challenge) the Saleen Owners Group in Go-Kart racing - Would there be any interest here in attending??"
All Sports GP is the place - out by Dulles Airport on Mares Ln (?) If there was any interest here in challenging the Saleen (Mustang) Owners Group, I could get more info - My brother, who organizes this, mentioned it to me over Turkey day - Asked if there were any Vettes in NORVA who may like to do this...
Let em know...
BTW - It is in Dec. and I believe a cruise for dinner follows [B-)]

NVCC normally has a club event that goes up there this once a year. I believe it is normally in January or February. There is normally a really great turnout.
I would be interested in doing it with you depending on when it's scheduled in December.

I'm sure if people are interested, they could chime in here. Post here, people! That sounds like a good time. We have a club event on Saturday 12/11, so any other date in December would probably work just fine.
Additionally, I think Ralph Watts is planning a Go-Kart event for Jan or Feb of next year so I'm sure the Saleens would be welcome to come as well if they wanted more Go-Kart/speed action. Winter needs for speed fulfilled! [B-)]

I will check on the exact details & Post -
Also, Rob V. who has been in Germany for the past couple years may be home by then w/ his GS [B-)]

That carting is always a fun time! I'll be there if it's late afternoon. I have an office party in Shepardstown from 10-12 that day....
I am hoping to hear more from him today - I think he was doing some Christmas shopping in the masses this weekend -
...stay tuned!

You are going to get him hooked Andrej and then he'll be wanting to drive one of yours [:D]
Are you going to let him drive the Miata this year if he can get time off from work, etc.?

So far he has not shown much interest in driving either car. He's talked about it, but I can't get him to learn how to drive a stick!

I thought he would really start getting an interest once he started driving. Of course he is a very busy young man.

I think people are really into it or they aren't. I was chomping at the bit when I started driving, whereas the hub is more interested in HalfLife 2 or Doom 3. [:))]
I believe you have to be 18 w/ a license

Unless someone has a real desire to do the pits / team race, "arrive & drive" is the simplest way to get in on the action [B-)]

The swim meet was cancelled. I'll be at go-carting!
So it's going to be an open format? Has anyone mentioned wanting to do teams?
Nobody has specifically mentioned it - I might be interested, provided that's what is decided - I will introduce you to my brother - the two of you can talk it over if you wish [B-)]
See ya tomorrow
...after talking w/ my brother tonite - he confirmed the following:
All Sports GP, Meet @ 6 pm - Afterwards, grab a bite @ the Buffalo Wing Factory, Sterling
Black396, he also said we can see exactly how many ppl do show up and set up teams if that is the plan - you probably know more about this that I do - and how it all works - Either way, it will be a lot of fun! [B-)]

Just an FYI, so there's no confusion, etc... I had cut/pasted your post info into the club e-mail and event page listing.
Gotta get you gals on the same page [:))] [:p] Just kidding of course...run it any way you wish. *cheers*

I should be there a little early. Going to try to anyway. I don't always have the best luck with traffic getting there.
Folks - my brother just called me and said to tell everyone THANK YOU!!!!! He had fun and while sorry more were not there, our group ran fast & well - Most of us at least [;)]
Remember, Diet for the January event - it is all about the power to weight ratio [:p]
Seriously - I had a fun time - Thanks!!!!

So where was everyone at?
I saw George's post where he was going to bail with a cold but I was expecting Laurie and maybe a couple more.
We ended up with 7 drivers and ran a 25 lap qualifier with a 40 lap race. Had a blast as usual.
Andrej took 1st place, Stewart 2nd, Mike Chessnoe (Saleen) took 3rd.
James showed up to cheer was on.
Thanks for the invite Chris.
