View Full Version : Possibly another local vendor for racing stuff?

Has anyone dealt with Speed Unlimited in Maryland (near Andrews AFB)? I heard a commercial on the radio and checked out their website:

http://www.speedunlimited.com/

According to what they said, they apparently sell race gas and high performance parts/stuff as well as racing gear (fire suits, helmets, etc...)

How do their prices/service compare? I know OG Racing can be a bit on the high side price-wise, but good for stuff in a pinch. Just want to compile a good list of vendors so that I can shop around, share the info with other members, and maybe save us all some dough.

Thoughts? Feedback?

I have dealt with them since 1989 [B-)] and have been satisfied - know this, you will find cheaper prices in almost every case through mail order - they do have mark-up!

If you want a good time to buy from Speed Unlimited though, go during their Presidents Day (weekend) Sale in Feb - BELOW Mail order pricing for that weekend only!

Hope that helped

They are primarily import performance and Drag racing. I do not think they understand Road racing. But I'm sure you could get some NOS, ET drag rubber, and some cool lookin 20" rims. Bling Bling!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I was mainly thinking it could be another possible source for racing gear (suits/shoes/helmets) for new autoX members to look into, although the race gas is another plus. [:)]

You know me, I love to shop around...got a ton of sites bookmarked. Priced out the water pump at 5 different places before I was able to get an ACDelco one for $183. A lot of other places wanted $250 for the same damn part! Unreal!

They do have a large selection of general performance parts, MSD, Felpro, Edelbrock, etc. as well as crate motors. I was over there a couple of times 3 or 4 years ago.

I never went back after they couldn't tell me which 17" wheels would fit my '86.

They will sell it all - now the import stuff is possibly what is on the showroom floor these days however, they can order in anything "next day" - and I have bought "race gas" there too [;)]

5.0 Mustangs, and as mentioned, crate motors and such are their specialty - as I guess imports have become and the 20" rims [>:)]
Enjoy -
