Here I sit with back healing wondering how all my buddies are doing up at Summit. Just hoping to here a trickle of information coming from the track. If anyone gets back early and reads this, let me know how everyone is doing up there. I really wanted to be there this weekend, but unforseen circumstances have sidelined me. So I will heal up and get ready for next year. [:D]

Geo,
It was a great Spook. The weather was the best we've ever had and everyone had a great time. From Friday's registration/tech, to the corner worker party, to the recovery efforts by the course workers from the various fluid spills and off-road excursions, to the intense competition for overall FTD and the various sub-competitions in the all the groups, we had a ball! We handed out FTD trophies at every chance we got, we handled problems as they arose and we got through the whole event with no injuries and a maximum amount of fun. We have a great group of people in the club, who can pull off a major event with class and I am proud to be a member of NVCC! [B-)]
Andrej
PS Glad to hear your recovery is proceeding well! [:D]
PPS Wait till you see the results! Mike Geyer ended up with overall FTD (50.6 seconds) with Aarone RacerBoy Quine right behind (50.8 seconds) and Gannon Bryant at 50.9! Karen Bryant was the fastest lady with a 51.3. She and Gannon share a fast Group II Z06. Mike Woodsie Woods had the next fastest time (in a Group ISJ Z06!) Jim Beaupre, John Tribble, Denny Murphy and Pancho Thompson (all in Z06's) right up at the top. Marsha Batchellor got her C6 down to a sub 60 second time by the end of Saturday. Karen Priestner (in a stock C4) battling Denise Thompson (stock Z06) all weekend! Wanda Robinson in Jim's Z06! Ralph Watts and Don Smith in IIG! There will be pictures and video to come! And more stories!

To bad you couldn't come up and watch on Saturday. Marsha was getting her new C6 dialed in. I bet if she had run on Sunday she would have gotten into the mid 50's.
Wanda was getting Jim's car dialed in for him, he ran a couple of 52 second times on Sunday.
It was great seeing all the cars out there, the worker dinner on Saturday was great.

It was an awesome time! I am so glad I made it up for both days. Thanks again to Tribble, Ralph, and Mike Woods (who got a 51 with me in the car, and with cracked rotors)! The rides were awesome. Thanks Mike Sarver and Ralph for...well you know who you gave a ride to that made their weekend! [:-$]
The weather was amazing, the company superb, and the cars were spectacular.
You guys sure know how to do an event right! Andrej...YOU DA MAN! [>:D<] [>:D<] [>:D<]
ps. I'm thinking roll bar with settlement money? [:-?] ahahahahaha [:))]

I had a great weekend! My thanks and "HATS OFF" to a great bunch of people that put together and worked this event.
Any day at the track is a good day but it is the people and the friendship that makes one a great day.
Kudos to all!

Great weekend everybody! It seems everyone, with very few exceptions, ran the best they could. You can't ask for more than that. Congratulations to everyone on running so incredibly well. To Don Smith, my congrats and thanks for the tight competition. Maybe next year I can lead you around the track a few times [B-)]. That's what keeps us all going, doesn't it? [>:)]

I want to thank Jim Beaupre for not only all his hard work he contributed to this event but mostly for his incredible generousity in letting me have his very servicable tires for Spook. Jim, it's what makes this sport and our club special. Thanks again. [;)]

I just want to thank Kirk and all the workers without them there would be no Spook. We worked them very hard all weekend. Stewart was in and out of the safety vehicle all weekend getting a workout. The Summit Point crew said they used 60 bags of Redi Dry servicing the track!!! The great thing was everyone ran hard and there we not so much as a scratch on anyone. Thanks and kudos to our Chair, Andrej for putting on a terrific event. Maybe even get to run more than one run [:((] next year! [:D]

This years event was AWESOME. I love the shift on the fly management this year. Track closed? then trophies, or lunch.
Corner workers, registration, timing, paddock, track marshall thank you, I hope you had a good show with my yellow Z06. I have never lost control at speed in the downhill left. Hope to never do that again
I tried to give as many rides as possible for the workers I think I gave 8, but my left brake rotor was cracked in half and was getting worse.

Hats off to all for everyone's hard work!
A HUGE thank you Jim B. for offering his Z06 to me. It was certainly a weekend to remember. I had never even sat in a C5 before, let alone drive one and had never done highspeed before this weekend. What an opportunity!!!! What can I say .... still haven't wiped the grin off!

Jim, I'll warm up your tires anytime!!

It is definitely a 'charge' isn't it? [:D]
...and if you think that was a 'hoot' wait until you attend one of the NASA HPDEs or a FATT at Summit! The sessions are normally 20-30 minutes or about 10-15 laps.

Wanda,
You are welcome, the pleasure was all mine! Just seeing the smile on your face was all I needed. Now Zoel needs to drive around in a C5 and get the shifting down! [:D] [:D]

And Ralph you are welcome. That is why NVCC is such a great club. Whether it is someone needing repairs, tires or a spin in a Z06, all you have to do is ask and there is someone to help.
You guys are like SCCA club racing was in the early 70's, just everyone out having some fun.

Hey! Here I am! [:D] Been busy as hell around here. I'm at work at this moment pulling a double (16hrs.), and got a free moment to check things out. The back is doing great, and getting better every day [:)] . I'm allowed to start running on Saturday!!! (It's only been 3 months).
Also, just to let you all know, I am signing up for the Iron distance National championships for next October in Florida for the Clydesdale class (For us bigger guys 200lbs. and over). A finish in the top 10 and I qualify for the worlds in Sweden in 2006 [:D] [:D] . AND THAT IS THE PLAN!!!!
Laurie, hope your foot is getting better also! [:)]

Wow! Don't work TOO hard. But I'm glad the back is doing better. Good luck at your event!

Unfortunately, it isn't, and it's now official that I will be going in for a second surgery on it. [:((] But thanks anyway!
