Ok he's what we have. Less than 5 cars $65.00 3 pulls base line. 6 or more $60.00. We need to pick which weekend in Nov. When everyone wants to go. I would suggest the second week of November. I think its the 13th. Chime in people [:D]

This is my reply from the other post:

Woodsie-

Count my car in for this. Thank you for taking the time to look into this further for us.

Here's what's available on the club calendar for a weekend dyno event:

Sat. 11/6
Sun. 11/14* NVCC/NVMC event possible
Sat. 11/20
Sun. 11/21* NVCC/NVMC event possible

I dunno if anyone would want Sat. 11/27 or Sun. 11/28 as that is Thanksgiving weekend.

*Note to Paul...can we get a committment from Ceece one way or another on the brunch event so we can get the November calendar more solid? Thanx...

I just talked with John he said he can do as many as 11-12 cars if we start by 9am.

So who's goin when? assuming 35-40 mins per car. Understand there is down time between cars to set them up on the Dyno. I usually help John get the cars set up on the Dyno.

You will get a graph with your horsepower and torque readings and RPM's at 100 intervals showing you the Rear Wheel Horsepower. This will allow you to gauge you cars proper shift point. For example an L98 shift point will be in the range of 4700 rpm to 5000 rpm depending on intake used. LT1/LT4 higher, LS^ even higher [;)]

Thanks Mike - remember you had a small part in my choosing to buy the BB earlier this year! Cant wait to figure out my baseline as well as where the heck my true shift points and redline are!

My predictions based on a much exxagerated 365/460 LS5 Flywheel estimate a la GM in 1971:

RWHP - ~250
RWTQ - ~360

I think that is optimistic knowing that this block came out of a truck and who knows whats inside besides a mild Isky Cam and that I need a serious tuning but we'll see...I did add the headers at least.
My friend with the modded RX (another guy named Mike) is hoping for 300+rwhp...

Thanks for coordinaing this and for including me!

I'm looking forward to it and Mike Woods made the phone calls, etc.

I'm thinking 285rwhp/400rwtq out of the BB.

300rwhp out of RX7 is realitively easy depending on what he's had done and how high he wants to run his boost. [B-)]

Guy I know is running 300 with 16-18psi. It is a pretty awesome car considering the weight advantage they have.

This is what I got from Mapquest...I'm coming from Centreville...lemme know if it sounds right to you all:

Take LEE HWY/US-29 S.

Merge onto I-66 W toward FRONT ROYAL. 5.2 miles

Take the VA-234-BUS exit- EXIT 47A- toward MANASSAS. 0.2 miles

Merge onto VA-234 BR S/SUDLEY RD. 2.6 miles

Turn RIGHT onto GODWIN DR. 2.0 miles

Turn RIGHT onto NOKESVILLE RD/VA-28. Continue to follow VA-28. 9.7 miles

Turn LEFT onto ELK RUN RD. 6.2 miles

Turn LEFT onto BRISTERSBURG RD/VA-616. Continue to follow BRISTERSBURG RD. 6.2 miles

End at 13016 BRISTERSBURG RD MIDLAND VA

BTW other Mike (Black396) - I finally got to speak to the owner 2 owners ago who had my motor put in - turns out it is a correct # (not for my car, but correct for a 71 Vette) 454 Block and was built about 3 years ago. It was pulled out of a wrecked 71 Vette which was wrecked even before the motor was broken in so it probably only has 2K miles on it, if even that.
He said it likely has a forged bottom end, bored .030 and he thought 10:1 compression. It had a chunky cam and big holly which he took out and replaced with a milder Isky cam (in it now) - Mega 270 - a good performing stock repl. for the LS5. and a Quadrajet - all for his wife - since it was her car!

So now knowing that with the headers too I like your 285/400 estimates better than my 250/360 - wishful thinking maybe....

He is hoping for 320-330HP not sure about Torque
He's got '99 J Spec turbo and a bunch of suspension mods for racing. Some other minor stuff - all I know is its FAST. Faster than a stock C5 coupe anyway...ive driven both and can tell a difference...

Dre no problems on the time

Below is who I have prepaid so far. We have 7 pre-paid so the we get the $60.00 rate. I will hold off on opening up the dyno to any other group because 7 is enough. Just waiting on Bill and Andre. So were fine for the $60.00 rate [:D]

This is a rain or shine event!! on November 20 (Sarver) [;)]

Those who have later times than. I would like to have you guys as early as possible. Just in case of engine problems with other cars, no shows, etc. Besides it cool to watch. Please have relatively clean oil in the engine, no oil/coolant leaks etc.

Well, I am due for an oil change and gotta tow in LilRed to Koon's to replace my flat-as-a-pancake tire anyway, I'll just have them do it all at once. I am certain there's no coolant leak, everything's new in that department. Hey Mike,

The problem with your posts when you quote someone is that one of the tags get removed.

There must be an 'open tag' and a 'close tag' A tag is enclosed in brackets [] a close tag is the same as the open tag except it has a slash / in front of the tag code.

A quoted string would look like this except I'm using braces {} instead of brackets [] so you can see it.

{quote}This is a quote{/quote}

With the brackets it looks like this
This is a quote

If you leave one of the tags off or if it is malformed it screws up the forum software.

Thanks everyone, It was alot of fun and it was great seeing everyone. The Z06 pulled 343 RWHP, thats 384 to the crank so its in line. (Not too bad) I was really surprised how much exhaust and a cold intake help the C5's. [;)]

I always find it interesting on just baseline. How some cars you thought were in tune. I mean they feel fine driving, no hesitation, yet the dyno shows different. John said my had detonation up top around 5000 rpm. So I guess we will be putting wide band 02's on to find out the air/fuel ratio and timing maps

It was a lot of fun! John was able to tell me a few things about the automatic that was very interesting. After the numbers were run, and the calculations done he said that mine was pulling 362-364 hp at the flywheel which is actually more than chevy claims, and that's bone stock. [:)] [:D]

Your only taking 11% drivetrain loss with those numbers, is
that what it actually is? Ive heard anywhere from 13-17% for
Manual's and up to 20% for automatics.

Anyone know the true C5 loss?

Does anyone know when John is going to mail out the results of the dyno tests that we couldn't get after Lauries car killed the machine! [:))] I thought that he was going to send them out the next week? [:-/]

I am having John do some work on my Durango, so I drove it down yesterday and he had the printouts sitting on his desk waiting to be mailed. I would think you will get them this week.

I spoke to John and he said they will go out this week.

He said:

"Sorry for the delay" He sent his printer to be fixed but ended having to buy a new one.

The last I heard, John was still trying to clean up the dyno bay from all the mud George threw around and the soot and carbon LilRed deposited on the ceiling. [:D]

That's for making me be last. [:p] Besides, the mud was actually thinning out the carbon that was in the air! [:D] Another words it was purifying the air.
