3 October Autocross @ ODS on the OVAL

The autocross this Sunday is on the oval. [=D>]

I have checked with the ODS management on the schedule and it is FIRM.

We have three more autocrosses currently scheduled:

Sunday, October 3rd on the oval *
Saturday, October 16th on the oval **
Sunday, October 31st on the oval *

The 3rd and the 31st are both NVCC points events.

I'm hoping to see everyone out there.

I'm a maybe for the oval ... got the tires on the rims, but need to set the camber and install the new brakes and rotors. I'm so swamped at work ... it's not looking good. [:((]

During the fun runs afterwards I would like to get you or Andrej to ride with Erica to teach her some of the handling charactoristics of the car. After speaking with everyone after the club meeting last night about it...my desire to take a few runs was hightened. If that's not in the cards b/c a helmet doesn't fit (Laurie)...then maybe next time but I'll be there with camera to watch for sure [:x] .

The guys don't seem to have a problem with helmets fitting, so you should be fine. They're all Medium, Large, and X-Large helmets...which don't seem to work for me.

That reminds me...Mike S...can I borrow your granddaughter's helmet again this Sunday? Haven't had a chance to go to OG Racing yet to get my own, been outta town...

Never mind...went to OG Racing today, got sized, and have my own now. WOOHOO! [:D] No wonder the club loaners didn't fit; I apparently take an XXS!

Would love to have my new brake lines, fluid, and pads in for the autoX as well as my new water pump, coolant, and serpentine belt, but it may or may not happen. *Crossing fingers*

Hey crew...I've got a former NVCC member from years past who never did any Autocrossing but is interested in watching this weekend. Of course I've told him that I'd be doing a few turns (hopefully not 360 degrees [:))] ). Is it alright for by-standers to take a seat in the infield or stadium...if there is one?

I don't see why not. That's how I got sucked into it; as a spectator at first. He'll have to sign the club event waiver like everyone else, no biggie at all.

Personally I like the idea of having a 'good' idea of how many people are going to be there.

Historically there have always been women at ODS. Our Honorable Historian has the details, but when I went looking through the archives I found the most interesting tidbits.

1. Women drivers are like women football players. If you can find the right person to get them to pay attention they can be some of the best drivers out there! Meaning, I used to coach little league football and ocasionally I would get a female player. They always turned out to be the best players because their attention spans are much greater than mens. (I know I'm going to pay for that statement, but it is true!)
2. When the fields at the autocross start getting overwelming #s as in some of the larger events I agree with Mike on pre-registration. (That was in defence of Paul? I think? [:-/] )

As I remember, I never said you didn't have any class. I said:

I could care less what you or anyone else has to say, win or lose. I am racing against myself, no one else, and trying to improve MY times.
