Andrej are you going to show up for any of our autocrosses
before spook, or should I just fax my log book over to you?

Just got home and had to check out the forum to make sure everyone was playing nicely while I was gone. [:D]
The weekend was a blast! Bill, James, Dave Rankin, Ralph and I were there for Saturday and Sunday. John Tribble showed up on Sunday.
The weather was fantastic, the company terrific and the track was a blast! [B-)]
We had the NVCC tent up and we did a fair job of representing the NVCC. It was Bill and James first time at a HPDE and they were both cooking by the time the weekend was over. [B-)]
Ralph, John and Dave were beating up on the poor Porsches and a few other brands that were up there. [:D]

I wish I would have had my digital camera this weekend. It would have been great to have caught the ear to ear grin on both of them when they came off the track. [:D]

[:D] GREAT EVENT!. There's nothing better than being in a train of Vettes lapping the field! I think we represented the club and the brand well. [B-)] The NASA Ind-Ohio boys sure give you plenty of track time. I ran out of gas on the first day! Every session was in the 35-45 minute range. Thanks Mike, John, and Dave for the "push and pull" and "Way to go to James and Bill on a very, very successful first event! If I figure out how to post a picture I'll put it up.

Look at the rear tire camber on Mikes Vette in that picture,

I think that is after we fixed the camber and did a 'home made' alignment in the pits. I just got through ordering a Camber/Caster/Toe alignment kit. No more guessing if something like that happens again.

Awesome picture. [B-)]
I'm sure the other cars thought there were 15 or 20 Vettes out there, but it was just us lapping them a couple of times.
It sure is easier to drive when you have the support of the members of our club.
BTW, the trailer was much easier (mentally) to pull after I installed the brake actuator.

Yeah, it was pretty cool to have most of them give us 'point bys' as soon as we came up behind them (including the turns). I think the Porsche drivers took it the worst. Of course I think most of them were in group 2.
I talked to the guy in the red Carrera a couple of times over the weekend. He came up as he was getting ready to leave to say good bye. He shook my hand and said 'It was great being passed by you' and he's looking forward to running with us again. [B-)]

Absolutely, the camaraderie and the mutual support is fantastic! I want to thank James and everyone for helping me out when my camber rod slipped.
Glad to hear you got the actuator installed. Trailer brakes are always nice to have, especially when you are towing over 5000 lbs. Did you get it done before you came down the mountain?

Thanks Ralph, Mike, James, Dave, and Bill ... hanging out with you guys was great. I think the vettes put on a pretty impresive showing. I'm still working on copying the in car video -- I have some great shots of Mike and Ralph. But the all time best was Dave's spin -- awesome save and it lookes cool on tape (it was tv perfect).
Thanks for the great time -- look forward to next time (as soon as I get some new tires, brakes, rotors : ) ...

Hey J.T. - I want to be first in line to buy that video. It only makes sense that the guy from WV should do some "agricultural" work. I'm still trying to figure out what happened, but I bet that the video shows that I don't hit my brakes until after I'm around once. I was accelerating up the hill when the back end beat me to the top (I think.) Put it on a CD for me ...Thanks.
Also, check out the Tire Rack. They are having a sale on discontinued Hoosiers, ~$160 for the 305/35's or similar size.
I got the trailer brakes working before attempting the drive home. It took awhile, but it was worth it. I discovered that my Mom's neighbor was a Ford mechanic. He helped out, since my Mom feeds him cookies, too. [:D]

Oops,
The Hoosiers on sale are for 18" rims that are 11" wide. I don't know if anyone puts them on 10.5" rims.

See, all kinds of good things happen with homemade cookies. [:D] I wonder if your mom ever thought about starting her own business, Mrs. Rankins' homemade cookies. [B-)]
