To top all off I heard driving into work today that apparently there is a activist driving group that rose so much h*ll about the new corvette tv add with the little boy day dreaming about jumping the car, and power sliding it. They said that it promotes unsafe driving so Chevrolet is pulling it off the air! [X-(] [X-(] [X-(] Pretty soon they are going to make them stop selling red cars because they promote good times among other things [:O] [:O] [:O] !!! What a bunch of MORONS!!!! [X-(] [X-(] [X-(]

Remember the Mazda Commercial of the little boy saying "Zoom Zoom", Well now its "Bleep, Bleep"....censored. This whole thing is stupid, just plain stupid. Watch forgein car commercials, like the WRX or Porsche, and you will see direct connection to racing, escpecially the Audi, or even the new Caddy or what about the HEMI Truck and Magnum DRAG RACING....but do they pick on those....NO Like I said its STUPID....and those people need to get a life or maybe a Corvette.

Sitting at work looking at the USA Today, and there it was on page B3 in today's (Thursday) paper. The artical on the TV add. Glad to see that it is more than us that is upset about them pulling the add. [X-(] [X-(] [X-(] [X-(] [X-(] [X-(] They also blast GM for being so quick to pull it also! [>:D<] [>:D<] [>:D<]

It will be interesting to see if GM responds either to the flood of comments in any way. Actually look at all the free publicity and advertisement that GM is getting out of it. [;)]

Its all of the media and the internet that they were responsive and pulled the ad. Now if the response is great enough, they can air the ad again and say they are just responding to the public's desires.

If they play it right, this could become one of the most famous commercials made. [:D]

Received a response from GM on the comment that I sent them. I think it is a generic response that they send everyone that sends in a comment? Here it is:

Dear Mr. Kerns,

Thank you for your email expressing your thoughts on the Chevrolet Corvette commercial. The concerns and opinions of our customers are very important to us and we appreciate the time you took to write. Chevrolet regrets any offense that may have been taken as a result of the Chevrolet Corvette television commercial.

GM has been airing the commercial over the last two weeks showing how a boy dreams of driving a Corvette. The ad is called "every boy's dream." The ad has generally received some favorable reviews. Nevertheless, we have decided to pull this commercial off the air in response to some feedback that we have received.

The commercial was intended to capture a boy's aspiration in an exaggerated way. It was not intended to depict a real life situation. We said so in a statement that we included in the commercial. In the statement, the viewers were informed that they were looking at a dream. The statement also recommended that drivers obey all traffic laws.

We also included several cues in the commercial to further signal that the entire sequence was imagination, including the vehicle performing unnatural maneuvers such as traveling through the air. Despite these efforts, some of the reactions we have received have led us to revisit the issue and to discontinue further use of the ad.

We certainly appreciate the time and effort you took in writing us and we value your input. You can be assured that the last thing General Motors wants to do is offend any of our customers. We will continue to strive for excellence in the marketing and advertising of our vehicles.

It definitely has that tone to it. Actually it sounds very much like some PR type put together a generic response to send regardless of whether the email was favorable or otherwise.

I think Chevy dropped the ball on the way they decided to handle this.
