Has anyone had any work done by More Performance Inc. in NC. I am considering having some performance work done by them and wondered if they are as good as they say they are on their website. Thanks

MORE performance inc stands for Mike Oshua Racing engines. I have known him for about 7 years. Although I have never had any work performed by him, several NVCC past and present members have. He makes amazing power for the cubic inches. I have always purchased my performance parts from MORE cams, pistons etc. I believe Sarver, Green, has had motor work by him and they can chime in.

What kind of work were you planning on having done and to what year/motor.

Mike does work on everything from L98s to LS6s.

Its one of their packages. Here are the particulars

Cam, Dual Valve Springs, Retainers, Seats, 1 7/8" Stainless Steel and Coated Kook's Headers, 3" Off-Road X-Pipe, VaraRam, Ported Throttle Body and LS1 Edit Dyno Tuning. We achieved 410RWHP with a mild camshaft and the performance modifications listed above.

This will be on a 2000 C5 and apparently the RWHP would go up to about 380-385. I would have this done locally if I could find a place that would do it, but seems like I may end up all the way in NC. I am waiting for a quote and a graph.

More sure seems to know what they are doing.

More has worked on my 1986 twice. The first time everything was fine except for the tuning. The second time I had some issues with the work they did.

When they worked on my car they didn't have a dyno and all tuning was out sourced.

The package you are looking at shouldn't present any problems.

I will say that I will never have another shop build a motor that doesn't have the technicians and equipment to do the tuning in house.

Who ever you decide to go with, be sure that the tune is right (dyno graphs, air/fuel mixture, etc.).

Thanks for the advice. Seems that they have all the equipment now. I am going to get a couple of references too.

Once all the work has been performed. Go to an independent Dyno shop and verify your Air/fuel, fuel pressures etc. You really do not want the A/F lean. Lean is mean and makes power but will not last, detonation, heat. Believe me we all who have modified have learned this lesson. She needs to be alittle on the A/F. There are alot of Dyno shops in the area Woodbridge dynotech, there is one in Manassas, one in Newington I believe.

Good luck

Thanks. I wonder if there is a local shop that would be able to do this work rather than going all the way to NC. Any recommendations?

Woodsie, myself, Tom Green and a number of other people have had real good experiences with John Sealock of Woodbridge DynoTech.

I'm not sure what his schedule is like. He is basically a one person shop and can get very busy. John is very methodical and it shows in his tunes. He will get the maximum safe horsepower out of a setup.

His website is http://www.woodbridge-dynotech.com/ His phone number is 540-752-1600

Give him a call and talk to him.
