Bushings

Joe,

My Corvette, as you know, needs new suspension bushings. I'd like to replace the existing bushings with polyurethane, due to all the "driving" I do with the Vette. Is there a manufacturor or vendor you can recommend?

On the same note - I know mine are shot (1988, 143k miles) to stay in NCC group 1 can I replace all the bushings with urethane?

How hard are they to replace? Am I going to need anything more than hand tools, jack and stands? Can it be done in a weekend? One weekend for the front, one for the rear?

I've always have had good luck with Moog products. The fit and finish have always been very good. As far as doing it at home in a weekend? MMMM That's a though call you should have a press to remove and install the control arm and link bushings but there are other ways of doing it. It usuall involves a BIG hammer and some other new parts if you are not careful.... Good luck.

It is also accompanied by a lot of cursing and cuts and scraps also. I did mine without the press and it was a real PITA. It is not something that I would want to do over a weekend.

OK, sounds like it might be a Koons job after all. Any idea of the cost (in hours if you want).
