View Full Version : Corvettes At Carlisle...Who's Goin'?

Last year was the largest Carlisle ever. This year almost all of the hotels are booked for a 45 mile radius and it's gearing up to be a very big event. I will be going up for one day only (Saturday) and hopefully leading a fine caravan of 'vettes with me. We will meet in the Leesburg Prime Outlets parking lot and take Route 15 through Maryland into Pennsylvania for a nice scenic drive. Start arriving at 7:30 AM, drivers' meeting at 7:45 AM, leaving at 8 AM SHARP. PLEASE BRING YOUR FAMILY RADIOS! Please register on the events tab on the club website, reply to this post, or e-mail me at lilredcorvette94@yahoo.com if you would like to join this caravan up to Carlisle. You must pay a registration fee so please visit www.carlisleevents.com to register and to read more about the event. Corvettes get to park directly on the fairground infield. Bring lotsa money! So it looks like general admission is: adults $12.00, under 12 are free and $5.00 for Corvette Only parking.

August 28th at 7:30 AM, drivers' meeting at 7:45 AM, leaving at 8 AM SHARP. [B-)]

Leesburg Prime Outlets is right off the Rt. 7/Rt. 15 interchange, not far from the last Dulles Greenway exit. As it gets closer, I will let everyone know where in the parking lot to meet, as well as e-mail my cell-phone number to those caravaning with me in case people get lost, etc... At this point, I'm just lookin' to get together the "guest list".

I was only planning to caravan up, and let people leave at their leisure.

A question: if you are going up with my caravan on Saturday, August 28th, what will happen with the autoX scheduled for the same day???

{Note to self:
Friday is the 27th, I'm working NOT going to Carlisle.
Saturday is the 28th, Autocross at ODS, NOT Carlisle.
Sunday is the 29th, Autocross we MUST support at Rosecroft, NOT Carlisle.}

Looks like I'm NOT going to Carlisle this year [:((]

We need to get Paul in on this one but that sounds like a plan. It is listed as a 'Points event' though.

I'll have to hold off before committing. Youngest girl leaves for college in southern VA on the 25th, and I need to get the '86 prepped for BeaveRun on 4 & 5 September.

...and I thought I was going to get a break for a couple of weekends. [:(]
