Haven't seen any posts yet on how American Iron went today. Hope it was a good turn out, the weather was great! Sorry we couldn't be there, but as the NVCC 'on the road Ambassador's' we were at the Lancaster County Corvette Club double autocross. By the way we did some promoting for Spooktacular too. Had some flyers out for anyone who was interested.

Wanda,
AI was great! The autox for the modified cars came down to the last run for Mike Sarver, Mike Geyer and Ralph Watts. They were all with in a couple of tenths, but Mike Sarver pulled a 66.5 out of the hat and won the modified class. Mike Woods won the stock class is his '01 Z06 with a 68.5!
We have around 18 people signed up and paid for Spook. This week I start inviting the Mustangs, Mazdas and Healys!
Thanks for being the NVCC goodwill ambasadors! How did you guys do?

We did pretty good, Zoel & John Watts battled for FTD, John took the 1st event and Zoel the 2nd. Zoel set the total FTD for the day. I battled with Karen Priestner for ladies FTD and beat her on both events. We had over 40 drivers and there were a few Miata's, you would have enjoyed it. It was a very interesting course, very tight and rough in some spots.
All in all it was a good time!

Had a great time out there today [:D] ! [:D] ! [:D] ! I got a lot of very nice photos of everyone on the track from several positions. Real good stuff! I need to send them to Jim so that he can post them. Thanks to Paul for letting me go out there and play afterwards! Got the bug [:D] ! Thanks to Mike, and Andrej for riding along with me and pointing some things out to me. I hope I didn't scare you too bad. I know that rookies have a tendency to do that once in a while. [;)]

TY, TY *takes a bow*. And thanks for the encouragement. It was totally kewl to have someone cheering me on!
Car was perfectly fine on the way home...I think it just was all those runs in a row that got the brake fluid too hot, like you said. Will probably talk to Joe about Super Blue. Also (getting a case of the "while you're at it") might replace with stainless steel braided brake lines if he has to bleed my brakes anyway.
Thanks for letting me have a few fun runs after the events! I can see how addictive this is going to be... I couldn't get to sleep last night and am still on a high this morning. Now just gotta get my foot to cooperate with me some more!

I don't know what you are talking about. [;)] Ralph is running a 'Mike Wood's suspension' and is a very smooooth driver. Between the two, I wouldn't expect anything less..
{hey. 'Mike Woods Suspension', very catchy, ever think about going into business?}

I had a blast out there!! [:D] Thanks to everyone who came out and made this a great event, corner workers, starter, timers and all. Woodsie, I like the sound of having a "Mike Woods Suspension". I'm sure the overall results would be different if you had your Hoosiers mounted. Mike S. I know you can do again because you've done it to me twice in the past couple of weeks! Great driving, Ice Man!! And for Mike Geyer, you're where we're aspiring to go. For proof all we have to do is "Bring it" to the big track and we'll quickly find out you're the boss!! [B-)]

"Mike Woods Suspensions Inc." Hum? After about 12 years with the C4's suspension I a pretty good idea on what springs are the best etc. Can you say 89-90 Z51 Ralph after I did your Vette, I realized I can't make any money at it. The amount of time I spent on you vette is about 3 times longer than it should have taken. I said this will be easy, but wait lets polish all the suspension component since its off the car, Now clear coat all the polished aluminum components. Install urethane bushings and reassemble.

Have you considered running our 9 high speed autoxes at Summit Point in October? We have spots for non-Corvettes....
Let me know if you are interested.

I was driving the yellow Cobra. I also had a lot of fun out there. That was the first time that I autocrossed the car and look forward doing it again.
Could you give a little more info or link on the Summit Point autoxes?
Thanks,
Greg

You can get more info about Spooktacular here SPOOKTACULAR (http://www.nvcorvetteclub.com/nvcc/spook/index.jsp)
Basically it is a two day event, October 9-10, 2004. There are 9 high speed autocross events ( 2 runs each event) around the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point Jefferson Circuit Map (http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/JC.HTM)
No cones except for the start and the finish, just a mad dash around the course for 1 lap.
Entrants are required to have a National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) high speed license or the equivalent. Its a social event as well that we start off with a hospitality suite on Friday evening.
Tech requirements are about the same as you would expect at any NASA or BSR event, wheel bearings, brakes, catch cans for radiator, tied down battery, etc. Roll bars required for convertibles.

Thanks for the assist, Mike!
In addition to the tab on the left, look at the posts in the Spooktacular heading of this forum for more information. Any questions that aren't answered there, we can certainly answer them when they are asked.

What do you need from me to get the NCCC high speed license? I've driven Summit both the main and Jefferson circuits with MB and BMW driving schools; attended HSDEs with the Shelby American Club at Lime Rock, VIR, Charlotte, & Michigan; completed the Panoz 2 day racing school in Road Atlanta; attended FATT (group 2) last summer; plus numerous AutoXs over the past 5 years.

75,
I would need a copy of your logbook for any one event that you attended in the last 18 months, the more recent the better. If you could scan it and email to urtoslo@adelphia.net, I'll take it from there. If you need a snailmail address, let me know.

I don't have a logbook. Those were non-competitive events. What else can you use?

Call BSR. They have a record of your attendance.
