I want to play with the alignment on the 86. I would like to see how good I can get it at home.
From the ones I've been looking at on the internet, it looks like a reasonable gauge and plates would pay for themselves in two alignments, if they are accurate.

You can set the toe with string and a flat floor. Wrap the string around all four tires using the center of the wheel to line up the string parallel to the floor. You can then see whether you have toe in or toe out on the front and rear wheels and adjust as necessary.
You could measure camber with a level, but you may need to tape blocks onto the level so that is sits parallel to the rim.

Mike, I'll look for at home alignment instructions written up by Dave Farmer. I'll email it to you.

[B-)] Steve, I appreciate it.
I hate the thought of dishing out $200 every time I turn around just to get the alignment set. Especially since it doesn't cost them anymore time wise then a regular alignment.
