I'd like to suggest scheduling an afternoon at Walter Reed, or another military or veterans hospital. We could provide a donation, or small items for items the vets needed, or just spend some time with them and take them for rides.

A previous club I belonged to had an annual "Vettes for Vets Day" that was real popular with the patients at a Veterans Hospital (of course the fact that it was held at the hospitality center at Busch Gardens didn't hurt).

Great idea. We had tried to do something like this for Johns Hopkins but it didn't work out.

Only problem though...we can't take people for rides...there is a HUGE liability/legal issue. But, no problems with stopping by with some cars, visiting with patients, or even donating some items they may need.

All it takes is for someone in the club (ANYONE) to step up with an idea, make some calls, and be the contact for the event. All you have to do is coordinate the event date with me (Social Director). I cannot chair EVERY event...I am doing a TON of them this August and months to come...but I hope that someone can step forward and take charge of this. [:)]

I'll work it if there is sufficient interest from the club. Maybe make a picnic out of it.

Sounds great! I am certain we can have a huge turn-out for this.

If you don't want the hassle of a picnic another option is to find a restaurant that has room for all of us to descend upon after the hospital visit. Totally up to you.
