Thought you would all enjoy an update from my bodyshop experience.
A little background...despite selective parking, my '91 was hit (and run) while sitting in the parking ramp last month. It was a hard hit, likely from an SUV, that rode up on the front clip and gashed the front cover assembly badly on the passenger side. Fortunately, it did not directly get into the hood, but did damage the headlamps and hood corner from the front clip being shoved inward. The silver-lining in the clouds though...the only real imperfection with the car was noticable damage to the clearcoat on the front clip from rocks and bugs...now it's taken care of!
Based on a recommendation from a co-worker, and after visiting the facility, I chose to go with Wagonwork Collision just south of Crystal City. From taking it in for the initial estimate through picking up the car today, I have been VERY impressed with their thoroughness and attention to detail. Naturally, they charge significantly more for their work, but they work with the insurance company to get the top dollar out of the claim. Check out their website at

I don't have pictures to share yet, but I will be sure to make it to an event or meeting sometime soon and you can check out their work. Like most of us, I'm extremely hard to please (I was sweating it the last week)...but they did it.The paint is mirror smooth, crisp lines and nicely matched. I had them shampoo the carpet in addition to their standard detail and they did a superb job. It's great to have the car back and it look's great!
