For those who do alot of track events, this is a mod you should consider. At POCONO, I was running oil & coolant temps close to 295 degrees! Yeah, MOBIL ONE says its good over 300, but that number is scary.

Had a guy from CCNEPA put a cooler on my car, and after some VERY hard runs on the North course and some VERY fast runs on the 2.5 mi course, the temps stayed right around 207-210 degrees, actually cooler than if I was in a traffic jam.

Rippie and the likes sell these kits, this one was a home made put together job, that started where the oil filter USED to be with an adapter and steel braided lines running up to the cooler- mounted by the radiator, and a new oil filter location off the cross member (not exposed to road rash so I think its safe there)

Total installed cost is about $750...... not too bad for the extra protection.

Sounds like what some guys have done with 1996 police engine LT1 oil coolers when they have adapted them to Vettes.

Do you have a thermostat on the cooler?

THis is for engine oil.... havent seen my trans or rear temp warnings come up yet... so you gotta rely on the synthetics...

NO STAT ANDREJ.....but he did put in a manual override switch to bring on both fans, if it would be THAT HOT.

Hope you guys are having fun today.... isnt it your first AX?
