I'd like to get a tune-up for my new purchase.

Does anyone know of a good place near Leesburg? What about Jerry's Chevy in Leesburg?

Or should I just go to Joe in Tysons?

Thanks in advance-
Dave

I'm not familiar with any shops in the Leesburg area.

For me it would depend on how much / what you want to get accomplished for the tuneup. If you are talking plug wires then I would take it to Joe and after talking to him about the cost, probably do plugs, plug wires, fuel filter at a minimum.

The fuel filter on my 86 is easy to get at. The one on my 96 is blocked by the pre-cats and is a real bear to get at. Likewise you can do the plug wires yourself but they can be a real pain and you will have to remove a/c, p/s, etc.

Do you have the maintenance records or history? Is it an auto or a manual?

Dave,

I have taken my Vette to Jerry's and have found them to be reliable and conscientious about their work. If you can't make Koons, they are a good substitute.

Thank you both.

It's a six speed with 95K. The maint. records are spotty, but over the past two years the oil changes are documented and regular every three months.

I'm getting a loss of power, almost like an intermittent miss, at low speed. When accelerating, I don't feel it, but at around 5K rpm, another loss of power. It feels like an rpm limiter?

Thanks for all input!

You could just write the question directly to Joe in here about whatever issues you're having.... [;)]

I've been thinking for the last couple of days on how to respond to this post and not sound like a jerk. So here it goes. The ONLY shop that I will ever recomend for other than resto. type work is the shop I work for. That is Koons Chevrolet in Tysons Corner. If you choose to take your vehicle to someplace else you are on your own. Thank you to all of the club members that have supported Koons and myself in the past and the many days to come.
