You may recall that Steve Britt, owner of ODS, has asked that the NVCC pick two of their Street Car Test & Tune sessions and have some Corvettes show up and run.
I have picked June 16th and September 8th. The session starts at 5PM and ends at 8PM. The cost is $15.00 to run and $5.00 to watch.
I am asking that some of our faster members sign up and make a good showing of the club.
Who here is interested?

No, I hadn't heard. Either that I completely missed it. I could probably swing that.

Are we talking running the oval without cones! I'd be interested in that!

This is a test and tune day at the drag strip running the 1/8 mile strip. Steve asked us to show up with some cars to show support and hopefully get a trend going.
I'll squeeze it in even though I would rather watch drags than be draggin'![:D]

Anybody got a set of slicks or drag radials that will fit a C4? [:D]

Well mine is bone stock - does about 9.5 in the 1/8 (according to the stack of 1/4 slips I've accumulated) so I think that qualifies as SLOW.
I don't think thats fast enough for showing up other cars so I won't race (unless someone twists my arm)
I'll come out to watch though.

www.Weather.com is calling for thundershowers on Wednesday. But if anyone else wants to go, I'll show if it doesn't rain.

I qualify as slow also, dont think the Halltech Stinger
intake would shave much off my 1/8 mile time.
Hopefully someone with a truly fast car can show up.

aw come on Bill, fess up. [:D] You should be able to run high 12s, maybe low 13s with your car in the 1/4mi. I don't have the foggiest what that would equate to in the 1/8th though.

I honestly have no Idea what my 1/4 mile times are, Ive
only had the car 3 months. The stinger is only good for about
16-18 horses according to thier website.
Whats a stock C5 run in the 1/4?

Not really sure. I've heard of stock LT1s doing 13.4 - 13.5 and LT4s doing 13.3 -13.4
Jeff Kirk's managed a 12.8 or a 12.9 I believe in his Z06. A lot of it will do with how good of a launch you get and what how the weather (humidity, barometer press and temps) is.

I dont quite have the launch down yet [:p]
too slow or too much spin or hopping lol.
Looking for a sitter as is for this saturday,
wife told me last night that she's got
a baby shower to go to saturday afternoon.
so I may only be able to come out and help
set up on the 19th [:((]

According to some time slips I have a 13 sec 1/4 mile is about 8.6 sec in the 1/8 th but he had a slow 60 foot time (almost 3 seconds!)
Like Mike said its all about the launch and keeping the wheels from spinning. A test and tune night is a good opportunity to just have fun and work on the launch if nothing else.

Putting this back on top, the next test and tune is in about a week already. Still a go, weather permitting. [:)]

OK folks, this is supposed to be today, but looking at the weather, might be a no-go.
