I'm concerned about the STW campaign. On two occasions I passed C5's on a two lane road, (not like 100 yards across a median)...and didn't even get a look, let alone a wave. I felt like the guy introducing himself to someone and the recipient just looks at your hand and stands there. No, this was worse because they didn't even look [>:)]

I admit I'm often times in la-la land as a I cruise...but there is Vette radar that'll kick in when one is within my sights. Anyways, this probably sounds like a [:((] session...but I really am wondering if other members are noticing this unfortunate phenoneom in our area? As a Wrangler owner for 6 years...I'm used too at least 75% of fellow Jeepers waving back...yet no so with my Vette...

Hi Mike,

Months ago I made a very similar post on here:

http://www.nvcorvetteclub.com/mvnforum/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=189#839

I, too, have been blown off many times down here in VA. Up in NY where I used to live, there were a lot more save-the-wavers.

Uh... just a thought. I forget that I am not in the Vette all the time and my radar also goes off and I wave and wonder why I am not getting a return... course I am sitting in my Lexus! Duh! Tough getting old.[:((]

Hey I had a good one this weekend. Five of us are headed for PA, 3 on trailers, 2 driving and leading the way. Guy comes by in a C5 (Commemorative Edition). I wave and get a great big wave back.

This was the first wave I've gotten back when I'm trailering the vette. [B-)]

LOL! I am embarassed to say I have had a false alarm go off and have waved to a non-vette. Whoops. Damn that near-sightedness![:))] [=;]

Yeah...I attribute it to folks that just don't know or ones that are too cool to acknowledge another Vette on the road with them [:p] But was really taken back today when the drivers didn't even look over - let alone wave...[:-/] I know...need to have an Electron Blue Z06 right?[:D]

Laurie...thanks for the thread from your posting back in Jan. Did anything come outta that in terms of putting together a CD/packet for the unvettejacted new owners out there?

STW...

I started putting it together but it has stalled. I'm not exactly what one would call 'artist' and the software I have doesn't do much in the way of puting different effects together.

I put an email out and a couple of people responded with content but it really needs a group to get together lay out a story board and decided on content.

Mike,
When I am well again, let's see if we can all meet and jump-start this project again.

I was hoping you would say that Laurie.

Michael, we can always use help so if you want to jump in it would be appreciated.

No Problemo, Mike. Actually, I tried to view your "first crack" at it but for some reason all I got was a bunch of funny-looking text. I've been meaning to ask you for some "tech support" but life has just been getting in the way lately.[:">]

Right click on the link and select "Save Target As..." make sure it saves with a file extention of .WMV

The big thing is that for some reason it normally wants to save with a file extention of .htm or .html

If you still have the file just change the extention to .WMV and it should run.

I did that and it didn't work. Ugh. Maybe I'll see if Todd has any additional ideas tonight when we've got time to fiddle with it.

.WMV is a MS Windows file extention. Are you using a Mac (Apple) by an chance?

What version of Windows Media player are you using or which player/version are you viewing the file with?

I saved the file as a DVD method .WMV and I'm using 8.00.00.4477

From the Player menu bar go to Help and select 'About Windows Media Player' to see the version. (In case you aren't sure where to find the version number)

OK, this is what my "About Windows Media Player" says:

Version: 9.00.00.3075

Ugh, my yahoo account has less than 2 MB left in storage. How big is the file? I might have you send it to a different one if it's bigger than that.

Why of course...maybe I will make U turns and attempt to pull-over all passer by's for starters [:-?] Honestly, I think it wouldn't hurt to educate folks on the history of Vette ownership, and letting them know about the club at the same time couldn't hurt.

I started working a new project which is putting me on the graveyard shift...7 days a week...on a rotating schedule. Its a mess so most nights are outta the question...and some weekends like this upcoming one [X-(] Nonetheless...let's roll! and I'll be at the shop on Tuesday [>:D<]
