As many of you know the Freestate Corvette Club sponsors one of the largest Corvette Shows on the East Coast, next to Carlisle. This year Corvettes at Ocean City is schedule for 1 and 2 October.

Meg and I really enjoy this week-end as we use this as the get-away to the shore week-end. OC is less crowded most of the boardwalk is open, and usaully the weather is decent. Last year it rained in DC area but it was Partly Cloudy on the shore.

Well the point I am making about mentioning this event is two fold. The club has a lot of newer members who are trying to decide the better events to attend, and the event at OC has grown so large, hotel rooms are at a premium.

Believe it or not, last night I called several hotels only to find all the nice Oceanside Rooms are reserved, as far back as January in anticipation of this event. The Grande Ocean Hotel, headquaters for the event is fully booked. All the hotels around 10th throu 90th street are booked.

So if you plan to attend this event, I recommend that you book a room now. This weblink will provide you some contact numbers for all the hotels recommended by the chamber of commerce

In addition, you might want to check back to the Freestate Corvette Club homepage periodically to register for the event.

If you fall within the first three hundred to register you get a goody bag and there are many nice things they manage to get because the event is so well known. This is a NCCC sanctioned event, they have ralleys, Concours/Shownshine, and many other events the entire week-end. We think the highlight of the event is driving the Corvette down the length of the boardwalk as part of the Corvette on the Boardwalk parade. There is a large crowd the entire length of the boardwalk waving and applauding the long line of Corvettes. If you go to the Freestate CC website you can see an photo of the staging lot of all the Corvettes that participated last year....it was the largest EVER...

We had several members attend last year, and we managed to get the cars together during the parade. So I thought I would mention this.

Finally if we have enough people interested, I will make reservations at COOPER CRAB HOUSE and we can go to dinner on Saturday night, but I must get an answer by June otherwise they are fully booked.....post here if you are interested...I will ask Brad to put this on the Club Schedule.

Good Luck...
