As the show date gets closer we need club members support more then ever. Sunday, Don Kerndt, John Anderson, Mike Saver and myself spent our afternoon planning the layout of the show at Franklin Park. This morning I talked to the park maintenance people and they have promised me full cooperation and anything we needed logistic wise to make the show a success. Mike forget bringing the autocross cones, the park has over 100 traffic cones we can use.

What I do need are people to help with the show set up Saturday at Franklin Park. We will meet at 10:30 AM in the show area (in front of the pool house), to organize the work parties.

These are the tasks that need to be completed.

1. Make and put up various traffic flow signs, we will provide the material.

2. Help the Franklin Park staff install snow fence around the show area.

3. Move items into storage area (T-shirts, pins, registration, tickets, trophey, etc.)

4. General yard maintenace, cleanup small rocks etc. The Park has promised me today they will use a large street cleaner to clean out the entire parking lot making it rock free.

5. Chalk and grid the show lot spaces assigning grid numbers by Corvette General...will explain, this makes each lot assigned so judges can find the car easily.

6. Move tables and chairs in position. Maybe erect a tent.

7. Make sure you have a good understanding of the layout of the show so you can assist particpants as they arrive.

8. Bill Kostler will get judges aside for a quick reveiw and walk through.

9. Get the PC and printers up and working, making sure we have enough supplies.

10. Lunch will be pizza, and softdrinks.

As you can see we have some things to do and get in order, so we need your help as a NVCC member to make this show a success.

Please Post HERE if you can attend, this week end belongs to the club and its members, I am really excited about this show, and the response has been really good.

Please Post....

I'll be there Saturday. Sounds like I don't need to bring anything with me Saturday then?

Note to self: Purcilleville is an hour and a half drive from Springfield even in the Corvette. (Lots of cops on 7 and 50.) Be sure to leave home before 9:00.

James,
Thanks for the tip about 15. Traffic wasn't too bad and 50 moved pretty smoothly. I think 50 has more lights than 7 but a lot less idiots. (I hate 7 from 7100 to Leesburg! It feels like you are taking your car's life in your hands every time you drive it.)
