This may be a silly question, but I was reading through the Corvette Quarterly and saw the Z51 suspension package comes with cross drilled rotors on the C6. If I'm not mistaken, wasnt this something that automatically threw someone into Group 3? Any ideas on how that'll work if we have a C6 come out this year?

Yes
Yes
and
Yes, they will be group ISJ

Wait a minute that doesn't make sense.... 1SJ.

The C6 does have slotted cross drilled rotors. In the past they automatically threw you into Group III because they were only available as Aftermarket brakes. Since they are stock OEM items, the penality won't be there.

On the other hand the standard C6 will be very close in nature (horsepower) to the Z06. Therefore NCCC is working under the assumption that the C6s should be in ISJ and IJ. Group II cars will remain in the H class. This is a test for the next year and will be looked at again next year.

However, they will not allow updating or backdating equipment between the Z06 and C6. So the answer to your question is no before you even ask it.

You can't put slotted cross drilled rotors on your Z06. [:p]

I think you got it, Mike. The standard slotted rotors on the C6 would not automatically put it into Grp III. It would for the C5 and earlier Vettes.
