If you have any questions, please be sure to see the Summit Point website or call the contact person listed at the bottom of this post.
We are hosting our first annual "Summit Point Spring Festival 2009 - Family Fun at the Park" on May 9 at our raceway. The hours will be 10 AM to 5 PM for visitors (participants will need to be there earlier - ask the contact person listed below).
We would like to invite folks with interesting cars of any age to stop by and enjoy the occasion. We'll have a roped off area for the cruise-in folks. There will be plenty of parking and a shuttle bus available as well. There will also be an opportunity to drive parade laps (not racing) on a real racing road course during the lunch hour.
Our entire facility will be on display and we'll have a family-friendly atmosphere with activities for the kids (pony rides and other things) and accident avoidance seminars for adults and minors accompanied by adults.
Entry fee will be $5 per person or $10 per carload and parade laps will be a slight extra charge ($15 per car.) Jefferson County residents are FREE. Food concessions will be available throughout the day.
Apple Valley Chevrolet-Toyota-Scion, Guy’s Buick-Pontiac-GMC, and Thomassen Ford-Mercury-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep will conduct ride-and-drives in their vehicles around Summit Point’s Shenandoah road circuit. Summit Point will perform EMT and vehicle maintenance demonstrations.
Activities requiring pre-registration include an autocross event, high performance driver training for cars and motorcycles, and an Accident Avoidance class. Registration information can be found on the Summit Point website: http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ or call 304-725-8444.
