2008 Vienna Halloween Parade
OK, folks it’s that time of year again...
Time to start working on your leg’s clutching muscles for a parade through downtown Vienna!
Date: Wednesday, October 29th @ 7:00 pm
This is an excellent opportunity to get some exposure in our own back yard! Anyone who lives in this area knows how big a parade this really is! This is a great opportunity to get the club out in front of our own community, and the cost FREE!!!
We have won 1st place at this event in the past and have had as many as 30 cars - lets see if we can top that this year! The theme this year is "An Old Fashioned Halloween". Let's see if we can get some of the older Corvettes in the club to come out for this event!
Several people have asked if we are decorating our cars - that is entirely up the you! Costumes are also optional.
Additional people/spouses/kids are more than welcome, to walk and help carry the club banner.
Also, you are not allowed to throw candy etc. from the cars. (It can however be handed out by participants on foot.)
We are #36 in the line up and we are up to 27 cars!
If you are interested in participating, please send me an email at jdthree@cox.net and I will include your name on the list.
I will be out of town on business the day of the parade, and Ron Weller will be leading the parade in my place.
Staging will be @ 6:00 PM, parade kicks off at 7:00 PM. This year we are meeting in the parking lot of the Potomac Bank, 414 Maple Avenue East, Vienna, VA 22180, next to Leslie's Pools and Wu's Garden. Please be there NLT 6:30 PM.
Directions:
*From I-66, take EXIT #62 toward VIENNA (VA-243 N/NUTLEY ST SW), drive 2.1 miles.
*RIGHT onto MAPLE AVE W/VA-123 N, for 1.3 miles.
