Teen Driving School info for 2008

Hey everybody. We're getting great feedback on the Teen Driving School and we are going to try to make it a more regular event.

In order to do this, we're going to need more sponsors and volunteers. We've put together a video to help us get more people involved.

Please feel free to forward this link on to anybody you know who may be interested in:

NOTE: Oh No!!!!! I just realized that in listing the sponsors I totally forgot to list Howard Snook and Long & Fosters Realtors. I can't believe I did that. Especially since Howard has been heavily involved with this event since it's inception. Howard, my deepest and sincerest apologies. I can't change the video now because it is finalized and I'd have to recreate the entire thing and it took me 5 hours to do this one.

Sheikh, I'm volunteering to help anywhere needed. I helped out before and had a blast. Any date(s) in mind yet?

I want to get WJLA involved as they do a Teen Driving Assembly at local high schools (thanks Cassidy for letting me know about it).

I think that WJLA would be very impressed with what NVCC does. I contacted WJLA, along with all the other local news stations, without any luck. But, linking our Teen Driving with their presentations that they give to the schools can really help us.

How the heck are you since the reorg? I am at SBInet doing Configuration Management now.
There is a lady here who is in dire need of the driving school that my daughter Michelle and I attended.
It’s Carole Rynearson and she’s our Training Manager at SBInet.
Her daughter has her learner’s permit and her driving scares Carole.
I know there was a session coming up sometime in April and it’s most likely filled to capacity.
However, I assume there will be another sometime if she can’t get in to April’s.

We need to pin down George on contact info, so we can contact the school. The location this last time was PERFECT (I think anyway) and maybe we can use that again.

The idea was to have an early November date, that way the weather will (hopefully) cooperate....better than freezing thats for sure.

Some discussion tonight at CM, will hopefully have more details soon.

Folks: Now that we have successfully hosted the Concours, and the HPDE is a month away, we need to put some serious effort into coming up with a location and date for a FALL 2008 TDS.

In a few minutes, I will be emailing the Council a dozen possible No. VA. sites that I have identified. I am asking that the Council consider these locations at the Council meeting on 6/10/08 (although I will not be able to attend). It will be in the best interest of the TDS if we can come up with a coordinated way to investigate these sites and come up with a plan to approach the property owners/managers with our request/proposal.
