Rallye #3 – July 13, 2008

The Nolen’s Ultra Mega Easy Rallye

So, you say you’ve never run a rallye before? Guess what? We’ve never written one before – we are all in the same boat!

Come out to the Nolen’s Ultra Mega Easy Rallye on Sunday, July 13, and we can promise you three things:

1. You will have fun.
2. You will eat some food.
3. You will be less confused driving it than we were writing it.

Here are the details:

· Meet at Glory Days Grill at 9526-C Old Keene Mill Rd. in Burke, VA.
· Be there for the driver’s meeting at 10:45.
· First car out at 11:00 sharp-ish.
· Come back to Glory Days for lunch after the rallye. Private room reserved for us, but everyone can order off the menu and separate checks are already arranged.
· Cost: $10 to rallye, $5 to cruise.
· Additional poker option: $10, with high and low hands splitting the pot.
· This event is RAIN OR SHINE.

Please RSVP if you plan on coming – it helps us out! Send your RSVP response to nicolesnolen@yahoo.com.

The busy summer driving season is upon us! After the July 11th event at Summit Point, you may think to yourself “I need a little break, a little rest.” You might think, “I just did a driving event.” You might, MIGHT even think, “I’m too tired to go to a rallye.”

You should ignore the voices in your head, because you will be missing out on a great event. We know you are going to be tired, so we have created what we like to call the “Nolen’s Ultra Mega Easy Rallye.” You drive around some, you look for some easy clues, and you come back and share some lunch at Glory Day’s Grill. What could be better or easier than that?

Here are the details:

· Event is Sunday, July 13, 2008
· Meet at Glory Days Grill at 9526-C Old Keene Mill Rd. in Burke, VA.
· Registration is from 10:15-10:45 (see, you can still sleep in)
· We will conduct a “Rallye 101 Re-hash” at 10:30 a.m. for those of you who missed Rallye 101 but still want to learn a little something about rallye before you try to run one
· Driver’s meeting at 10:45
· First car out at 11:00 sharp-ish
· Come back to Glory Days for lunch after the rallye. Private room reserved for us, but everyone can order off the menu and separate checks are already arranged.
· Cost: $10 to rallye, $5 to cruise.
· Additional poker option: $10, with high and low hands splitting the pot.
· This event is RAIN OR SHINE.

If you would like to come to this rallye, please RSVP to us at nicolesnolen@yahoo.com as soon as possible. Flyer for the event is attached.

Hello everyone!

Just a clarification on the directions to Glory Days Grill - the address is 9526-C Old Keene Mill Road in Burke, but the restaurant is not the easiest to see from the street. It is in a Safeway shopping plaza at the corner of Old Keene Mill and Lee Chapel Rd. Easiest way to arrive from all points is to get on the Fairfax County Parkway and then take Lee Chapel Rd. towards Burke. Continue on Lee Chapel until it meets up with Old Keene Mill and enter the shopping plaza that is on that corner. Glory Days Grill is all the way at the far end of the shopping plaza and we will be setting up for the rallye in their side parking lot. I'm including a link to the restaurant's website and they have both maps and driving directions available there: http://www.glorydaysgrill.com/locations/burke/index.htm.

Bathrooms are available at the McDonald's before we set out for the rallye, and remember to fill up with gas! If you have any questions the morning of the rallye, or if you have trouble finding the restaurant, give us a call at 571-345-5998 or 703-855-1665 and we'll help you figure it out! Remember, registration starts at 10:15, it's 10:30 for Rallye 101 review, 10:45 for drivers meeting, and at 11:00 we'll start sending out cars. We look forward to seeing you Sunday morning!
