Rallye #1 Only One Month Away!
As the weather turns warmer, our thoughts are turning to our first official rallye, which is now less than one month away. Alice Arielly, Rallye Master for the first event, has put together a fantastic and challenging rallye through the Mount Vernon area on Sunday, May 18.
Registration will be from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m., with the driver’s meeting at 8:45 and the first car out at 9:00 a.m. Registration and the driver’s meeting will take place in the RV lot at Mount Vernon.
The fee for rallye is $10, or $5 if you just want to cruise. Rallye Master Alice is also offering the option of a poker portion of the rallye, so if you are feeling lucky, bring an extra $10 to participate. High and low hands will split the pot.
Brunch will be held after the rallye at Old County Buffet on Richmond Highway in Alexandria. Cost of the buffet is $9 before 11:30 a.m., and $12 after 11:30 a.m. Please feel free to come and join us for brunch even if you don’t want to try your hand at the rallye.
On a personal note, Cassidy and I participated in one of Alice’s rallyes as one of our first events with NVCC. It was challenging, but not too difficult for rallye newbies. Please do not hesitate to come out and give it a try – we came in LAST PLACE, but had a great time and liked it so much we had to do more.
