Could it be? This is the first thread in this section?!
Before I deployed for Kuwait, I had some paintwork done to the front end of my C5. One of the side benefits of this unplanned event was I now have no chips from road debris. It's smooth as a baby's...well, there are no blemishes in the paint. ;-)
I've heard of people in the club and elsewhere putting the 3M covering/paint protector plastic on their 'Vettes, but that seems to have been on new vehicles.
Q1: Would it be safe to do the same on the new paint now that's it's been sitting in a garage for what will be 6 months?
Q2: This has been asked before, but any recommended installers/brands?
Thanks!

I hope this helps,

Thanks for the info, Jerry!
FYI, the rdblockva.com site pops up for about a second, then turns into http://loudouncountywebsite.com/transportation.html ... won't even let me read the site ... haven't a clue why.

Crystal sold her company to another outfit (still in Sterling), located next door to Piper Motorsports. Dang if I can remember the name of the outfit that now does that work....

The new 3M plastic installer is Detail Authority in Herdon, 703-318-6565. This is the place that Roadblock sold out to. The manager is Randy Coffee. He is offering a 10% discount to any NVCC member. Additionally, he is the only one to do the install. I've talked to him about the C6 I'm ordering. Does anyone know how good he is? Any experience with his company? I hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
I have recently joined to reach out to those in search of paint protection film installers in the northern virginia area. As you know it is sometimes difficult to decide who to go to, or who may have the best film and or best experience installing the film. My name is Donny Warren, and I have been installing paint protection film for roughly 2 years. I am a former employee of Roadblock Protective Sytems and they are the reason I am still in the clear bra industry. I learned my skills to install at their facility and have used my abilities and knowledge to start up ProShield Inc. Although to some 2 years isnt very long, I have spent that time perfecting the art of paint protection film. Unlike other companies or individuals who offer many different products, I have focused only on paint protection film and I guarantee your satisfaction upon completion.
I mastered installing paint protection film in 2006 and have been going ever since. My partner and I who also is a former employee of Roadblock and master installer have started ProShield Inc. to offer elite clear bra installation to those interested in the Northern Virginia area as well as DC, and Maryland. Our goal is to master each and every installation to ensure your paint protection film is as invisible as possible but at the same offering the best warranty and protection that is currently available. Our installations are warrantied for LIFE against yellowing, cracking, and peeling as well as defects in installation. Our kits are also what we like to call "wrapped" kits which means when at all posssible, we allow the film to over hang the painted surfaces and we wrap it around the edge, so the edge of the film is not visible. This results in seamless installation and amazing protection. We also offer full wraps such as your entire Hood and Fenders etc.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at 571 205 2305 or visit our website at www.ProShieldInc.com where you can also email us.
Thank you,
Donny Warren

I just want to vouch for Donny as he did one of my friend's cars and is going to redo mine in the very near future. Since he was with roadblock, and his new place is going to be in Sterling, it's basically the same quality and distance to get to him as it was roadblock. As soon as my car is done people in the club can take a look and tell me what they think.
