Hey Drivers
I have a 2002 Z06 and am considering performance upgrades. Does anyone have comments or ideas on super- or turbo-chargers like Vortech? How about Lingenfelter packages? Also, I'd like a shop in the northern Va. area. Much appreciated.

The only shop in Northern Virginia I trust for performance upgrades in Woodbridge DynoTech, John Sealock. http://www.woodbridgedynotech.com/
I'm not a particular fan of boost but it depends on what you are looking for on which way to go. For just a general all around performance increase, the TC would probably be better.

So the Z06 is too tame for you?
Modifications could be made depending on what you intend to do with the car.
A supercharger or turbo will put your power @500 hp or so, but you won't be able to hook up the tires in anything over 2,500 rpm. You would break them loose in the first 3 gears, from what I've heard. They are still good for street domination or dragracing.
A heads/cam package brings in the power in the upper rpm's. This may be better for roadracing, as too much torque at low rpm might make the car harder to drive.
Making the car breathe better with a better air cleaner unit (Vararam, others) along with a larger throttle body and maybe the newer 90mm intake with headers might be worth another 40hp. This are relatively inexpensive changes, yet make a noticeable difference.
Putting 4:10 gears in it would get you going faster. Stroking the motor to 427 cid is also possible. It depends on how much you want to spend, how fast you want to go, and how much down time you will tolerate. The fastest cars usually require a lot of maintenance.
I think most members of this forum would agree that the best way to make your Vette go faster is to become a better driver. Come on out to the track. You will meet a lot of us and find no shortage of opinions. You can learn from our mistakes.[:D]

Lingenfelter??? Wow...you rich?
There are tons of things you can do...drop in a 427, get the Lingenfelter packages...how much are you talking, and what kind of racing are you looking to do?
There are different ways to go..depending on how much you have, and what you want to accomplish.
