Yeah, I'm interested. Is this both directions? And what day is it?

I'm still working the format out and I need to get a date from Maria. I want to set it up for the May or June timeframe. I'll need to get get 40 - 45 confirmed drivers to make it work.

It will either be 4 run groups of 10 drivers each or 3 run groups of 15 drivers. Maximum number of drivers in any group would be 15. If I can swing 3 run groups then TTOT (total time on track) would move up to 5 25 minute sessions or 4 30 minute sessions.

What about corner workers?

I was going to check with Maria and find out what it would cost for BSR to supply them. Jefferson costs $3k plus tax and I was hoping we could get corner workers added for a total of < $4K.

I also found another source for corner workers. Erin is dating a guy from the Old Guard (3rd Inf Div) at Ft Myer. It looks like we can get as many as we need there for corner workers. All it will cost is lunch, maybe transportation to & from, and maybe a little cash.

The initial comment I got was, "Heck, they would be willing to do it just to be around the cars and maybe get a ride!"

Corner workers need to be able to monitor a dynamic situation, communicate with other flag stations, whip out proper flags for us, pull us out of burning cars, etc. We may want to go with the BSR foks on this. Nothing against the Old Guard, but we will traveling at 100mph and I really would not want a newbie (even a free one) at each and every corner. My two cents...

What kind of passing rules are we proposing for this adventure?

I was thinking...

Group 1: Passing in designated areas (front straight, back straight) only after receiving the signal.

Group 2: No passing on corners and only after receiving the signal.

Group 3: Passing only after receiving the signal.

Absolutely. I don't see any reason to limit it other than to a particular number within groups.

How are we going to present this to K&K? High speed autox? Drivers school? Something else? We would want to stick with the NCCC rule book to be able to use the insurance that comes with NCCC membership, and Maria will probably want us to provide a 5 million dollar certificate? I don't think we can afford to buy insurance outside of NCCC.

It would have to be done similar to the driving school put on by the PA NCCC clubs. My understanding is that they follow the NCCC rules but it is open to other brands.

Will do. I was hoping to get a bigger reaction from people in the club. Especially since it would be for Jefferson Circuit, which would give them some added experience on that track in preperation for Spooktacular.

I've gotten a couple of replys from people outside the club already who are extremely interested.

Hey Mike,

Count me in for this. Looks good. I would guess from looking at the threads to this that you need to be a NVCC member? Let me know.
Thanks - Jack -

Absolutely not! The idea is to get good people that want to enjoy a fun day at the track and maximum track time.

Cost per person would be just enough to cover the cost of the track and the insurance.
