I had a chance to go to Summit Point today. Porsches were using the main track.
The Shenandoah track looks like it is a long way from completion. They will need to hustle to get it ready for May. The areas that are paved do look good. The now famous turn is pretty sweet with the banking. It leads to (or is after) a decent straight that crests a hill and passes under a bridge.
The pit area is the most completed. No barriers up yet, but rumor has it that BSR bought all of the stuff they used for the big race in DC a couple of years ago.
I took some pics on video, if anyone is interested in seeing for themselves. I doubt that I have the patience to try to post a file that size using dial-up, but I can make a copy for someone.

Well, I just heard that NASA cancelled their event that was scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of May. The track will not be ready.

*******On March 22, 2004, Bill Scott of Summit Point Raceway notified NASA-VA that the Shenandoah Circuit of Summit Point will not be completed by May 21 when this event was scheduled. We regret that this event has to be cancelled. Full refunds will be processed. Registration will open for the July event at Summit Point ASAP. Please contact registration@nasaracing.net with any questions. We apologize for this inconvenience.
