Well... The 2007 Spook is history!!! What a blast it was! After last year we had PERFECT weather this year and the speeds were blistering!!!! [B-)] [B-)]
First I wanted to sy thanks to Andrej for Chairing this event again this year along with Jim. It just seems to get better every year!!! [;)]
I also want to thank everone that came out to help with the event from the corner worker, timers, scorers and all the other workers!!! Without you all this event wouldn't happen. So THANK YOU form everyone! You all are great!!! [;)] [B-)]
Aaron just absolutely blistered the track Saturday wit a 47.758!!! WOW!!! and there was a total of 13 group III carss out there this year so there was some pretty heavy hitters playing this year!!! I think that was the most group III cars we have ever had at one time!
The competition was great and the company and friends were even better! The corner worker party on Saturday night was a lot of fun also!

Ditto. Great weather and blistering times! [B-)]
Except for a few off-road excusions, it's a good thing everyone remained safe...and unhurt.
Too bad I could only corner work on Sat. But, c'est la vie.
Congrats to the NVCC for an excellent event! [=D>]

Hey Andrej, Are you going to get shirts made up this year?

Holy Crap! There was a ton of fast cars this year! That's the most group III cars I've seen at one event outside of convention.
Great job Aaron, that was one hell of a lap buddy. Bummed I had to sit this one out, but man it was fun to watch. Everyone seemed to be a lot faster this year.
BTW, anyone know if Georgana's fast time for the ladies held up after we left on Sunday? She had a blast running with the other ladies.
Hey Deb, she says thanks again for the "TEA" Saturday evening after things wound down. That helped calm the nerves a little after her FIRST high speed agricultural racing experience. At first she didn't want to go back out there, but after a few words of encouragement and a re-tech, she strapped back in and went for it.
GREAT JOB course workers!
Grid workers, you also did a hell of job keeping the flow of cars moving like a well oiled machine. Well done!

Jeff, I believe her time did hold up. We were glad to have all you guys and gals up from the South! Tell Georgana that Southern States are having a sale on Bush Hogs this week! [:))] She did good! [;)]

Thanks!
I was really glad to see her get back in, pull those belts down tight, and go after it like she did. That had to be one hell of ride through the grass at the end of that long backstretch. I remember from last year how much speed we were trying to carry through that corner and get up the hill.
I'll let her know about the sale. [:))]

Great friends, great cars and great fun. That was about a perfect weekend to have!
If anyone talks to Stewart Fox I found an 84 hood in Eden Maryland for 600. Obvious it needs refinishing but maybe less than his....
Thanks to everyone that helped with Tech. I know Paul appreciated the hands. Good times, even checking in cars and rigging Rich's headlight with a paperclip. Only Cel and Joe would use a generator to mix Margaritas. I am impressed. Wonder how those two camp out? I am already counting down to next year!
Cassidy
BTW,
I ended up throwing a P0101 code on Saturday morning (MAF is not within 50% of value of speed density/MAP reading). I pulled the intake hoses off to find puddles of oil so thanks to Dick Clark I cleaned the MAF. Tonight I tore the actual intake off and scrubbed it clean. Got the throttle body cleaned out too and am replumbing the breather vent. I "think" I found my code "maker", I think the band around that crappy GM bellows is just loose on the equally crappy plastic air bridge. For a flagship car they really made some dumpy parts. Waiting on an intake gasket set and I should be good as new.

Hey all,
Great to see everyone again and what a wonderfull job NVCC did putting this event on. Great times were had by all and there was some seriously fast drivers there again this year.
Thank you corner workers for flagging and keeping everyone safe. It is hard work to be stuck out in the corners in the middle of GODS country. [;)]
Sorry for the few guys that did some agricultural racing and dented up there cars, but glad you were all ok. BEEN THERE,DONE THAT! [:(]
Great job also goes out to Georgana for womans overall FTD for the weekend. SHE WAS SMOKING FAST! [=D>]
I also have an in-car cam DVD of my 47 second run, but not sure how to down load from my camera to here. If someone knows how, I can send them a dvd copy and they can post it hear too if they like. I am going to send Andrej a copy too since he already requested that.
So the question to Andrej is, what color T-shirt you doing? [:))]
you know, black with red hash marks on the sleve and red & white lettering would look good.? [:))] JUST KIDDING!
I have to say sorry to Mike Woods too. That cars of yours was beautiful and ready to stomp. You would have probably wooped us all if your car was working right.

It was an awesome time, even if I didn't run. It was great running tech and making sure everyone was safe out there. Thanks to everyone who helped out with tech and Kris for taking over for me when I went out there to take pics. It went flawlessly. As soon as I get together with Randy I'll put a CD together and make as many copies as needed.
Aaron, we can do it a few ways, either encode it to put it up on youtube or just put it up as a download on a web site. I think the youtube method is probably best. Anyway if you can get me the raw footage I can encode it or do whatever we need with it.

Hats off to NVCC...
The "Dinosaurs" were well represented. The only scary moment came was coming down the back straight and I saw Jim Roberts in the rear view [:(] I thought, I was going to have to give him a “point by”. [:))]

Hey no excuses, GREAT RUN Aaron, I tried to run on Saturday but without ABS I ended up flat spotting my Right front to the cord after numerous lock ups after the back straight. It looks like my RF speed sensor is cooked. No 3rd gear, Vette was stuck in limp mode with a knock sensor failure. Well, I have a few things to get right before its track ready....fun non the less. I ran it until it was just unsafe to drive.

We usually have a large group of RatPackers that drive down on Turkey day when traffic is really light.
We'll see ya there!

Hey.... made it back home on monday. Had a GREAT time as usual. NVCC is a great host! Corner workers---- THANKS SO MUCH!
Spoke to the management at the NORTHGATE INN where I stayed... they are open to us using them as HOST next year... 5 acres of trailer parking. Audi club uses them. They are racer-friendly.. and will block rooms for us at no up front cost as long as entrants book them individually a month or so out. Good deal!
Went up to POCONO today to give the Ferarri's a lesson in road racing and they left with a vivid picture of the BACK of a Corvette with a propeller on it! [:))] [:))]
[=D>] To AARON---- awesome run! You Da-man!... See everyone later!

Hey guys,
Had a great time as well (Saturday, until the car broke). Found some metal (not aluminum) when the valve covers were removed but still searching for the source. I posted a lap from Saturday's run on youtube. Not a 47 sec. run but a 51 from a C5 coupe. Love my Kumhos. Any sponsorship money left from Kumho for a group II car?
Take care guys,

Cassidy: Thanks for locating a hood so quickly but I am hoping I can save mine. Spent most of Monday dismantling parts to see what could be salvaged. So far, so good. As of this evening, I need a LF turn/fog assembly, LF headlight frame, an emissions vapor canister, and a vacuum canister that's about the size of a large grapefruit. I will probably also need the padding behind the bumper cover. Anyone have useable early C4 parts laying around ?
I really need to get the hood off the car on Saturday morning. Anyone available to do a few minutes of heavy lifting ??? I live about 10 minutes from Koons.

Stewart,
Glad to help. A friend works for Progressive and I had him pull it their way....best price turned out to be from a salvage yard on auto-parts.com. Thats great news you might not need as much as you thought.
Wish I could help you Saturday....need to get mine back together...can't find the &^$%^#$% intake gasket set anywhere. Nobody stocks parts for an LS1? Bizarre. Would not mind helping in the future.
BTW, there are always used parts dealers in the Corvette Fever mag; one I think has prices and parts right on an ad. Might be worth drumming up an issue and checking on used parts. The places around here think Vettes are made of gold (I remember that from my C4).
[:D]
Good luck with this weekend...
