Drive your Corvette to Work Day - Jazz Happy Hour Event and mini Corvette cruse-in (5:30-10:00 PM)

Drive your Corvette to work and then head out to Lansdowne Resort (http://www.lansdowneresort.com/default_.asp ) for Jazz on the Potomac. The headline act on 29 June will be Jaared (www.jaared.com ) and the opening act will be Bobbe Shore. I don’t know anything about these guys, but this is a complementary concert brought to you by your friendly Washington Area Nissan Dealers— [:))]

The concerts are held on the Lansdowne Resort newly remodeled terraces (going through the main entrance, walk straight back, down the stairs, go out the back doors, and then to the left.) Seating is first come first serve; but we have arranged for some reserved seating for corvette drivers—this is assuming that you drive your corvette and park in the reserved [;)] corvette parking location (more parking details to come.)

Please respond to this post if you plan to attend so that we can get an accurate count for the number of seats and parking slots to hold.

What else? Food and beverage for sale by the resort and rumor has it that they have a very nice martini bar.

UPDATE:

I am monitoring the weather forecast as this Friday quickly approaches and all is looking very promising, especially for this evening event. Weather.com is calling for highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 60s; maybe a few showers Friday AM, but clear by the evening.

I have reconfirmed everything with the Lansdowne Resort (http://www.lansdowneresort.com/default_.asp) — this event is a go.

Our reserved parking will be by the clubhouse; follow signs for the golf clubhouse (this area is closed off for parking to the general public), you will turn left just before the hotel and go through security, tell them you are with the Corvette Club.

As mentioned earlier, we will also have reserved seating for those in our group. Look for signs on the tables indicating those reserved for us.

As a bonus, the resort will discount all food and beverage for our group. They use a ticket program for all food and beverage is purchases, our group will get a discount on the food and beverage tickets (I am working them for a 50% discount, but it’s not official just yet.) This discount will be a great deal and a nice bonus no matter what!

Please let me know if you are planning to attend this event. With the reserved parking and tables, I would really like to get them a good headcount by Friday AM.

So, this Friday (29 July), drive your Vette to work and then drive to Lansdowne Resort (http://www.lansdowneresort.com/default_.asp) for some Jazz on the Potomac. Or you could drive to Chik-Fil-A and stand in the parking lot — your choice! This is a good opportunity to take your spouse or significant other to a different type of Corvette cruise-in.

This is tomorrow evening folks. With all luck, the rain will be well out of here and we should have great weather to enjoy some jazz under the stars.
