THe '96 is back on the road again (Well almost)

Well I finished up getting the '96 back together again this afternoon. It was missing and throwing engine codes when I first started it up and I was sure the Opti-spark had gone to lunch.

So I went back through everything and found two plug wires that didn't seem real tight. Pulled and reseated all the wiring connections that I had removed. Disconnected the battery and let it set overnight. I started it up this afternoon and she is running like a top. [>:D<] [>:D<] [:x] [:x] I took her out for a spin in the neighborhood and fell in love again. [>:D<] [>:D<] [:x] [:x]

I still need to get it inspected and get Joe at Koons to give it a clean bill of health but it very close. [:D]

Give it a fresh coat of wax, if you haven't done so already, and it will be real happy!

Gave her a bath, all squeeky clean. Then last night I couldn't resist. We went for a nice 30-40 minute drive after dark. Warm weather, windows down (too lazy to remove the targa or too much of a hurry).

We both came back satisfied. [:D]

She already is [:D] I took her in for safety inspection and emissions yesterday. The mechanic comes back out, says 'you know the back tires are getting close, right?'

My response was 'Sure do but at $300+ a tire, I want to get every bit of wear out of them' Then I looked at the emissions sheet....

NO ppm 08

That is even cleaner than it was the last time I had the emissions done. It seems that all the work changing plugs, plug wires, filters and oil made her happy after all. [:D]

Dont ya just love cars? Now...if I only knew what all that emissions stuff meant..and how some of these other cars pass when they accelerate and leave this big nasty cloud of smoke in front of me.
