Annual Club Picnic/BBQ - Sunday, July 1st 2007

Our annual picnic/BBQ will be held this year at Algonkian Regional Park on Sunday, July 1st 2007. Come out and enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, snacks, soft drinks, and desserts as you partake of the park's nature trail, family playground, and golf, along with some cool tunes. We have reserved Pavilion #1 for the entire day; please post here or RSVP to lilredcorvette94@yahoo.com and indicate how many in your party will be attending. Anyone who wants to bring games, volleyball, etc, please feel free to bring those items for use in the park. No alcohol is allowed. The park is very family friendly and is also open to pets (leashed). This event is open to NVCC members, their families, and those who have applied for NVCC membership.

Directions: To reach Algonkian Regional Park from the Beltway (I-495), take Route 7 west 11 miles to Cascades Parkway north, and drive 3 miles to the park entrance. Park address is 47001 Fairway Drive, Sterling, VA 20165.

Like last year, I will need helpers for the event. Here is what I need:

1 person to grill/BBQ the burgers/dogs.

1 person to photograph the event and email the pics to the newsletter editor.

2-3 people to bring coolers/ice.

That's it! I will be picking up some of the food, and have a helper to help pick up the rest. I also have music covered as well. We will be enjoying the masterful DJ abilities of our own club member, Randy Urick. [B-)]

Thanks to all who came out. We had about 60ish + club members on a beautiful weather day (low 80s, low humidity, sunny skies). Hope all enjoyed...see you next year!

BTW...if anyone has pics, please post them here. I'll be OOT tomorrow fetching LilRed so I'll post any I get when I return.

I'll hafta forward that pic to him. You should see his model corvette collection. I think he studies the Corvette Black Book or something in his spare time. Of course, I've been pouring on the C4 facts over time...he soaked it up like a sponge. He really needs to get a vette! (full sized one)

Rita and Rich Mars, who did a fabulous job of grilling the food we ate. You could not ask for a better cooked burger. Thank you for slaving over a hot grill for us!

Randy Urick, for the wonderful music we listened to. Very well done and made the picnic that much more enjoyable and special.
