Hi all,

Well, it looks like we did it. We now have a DMV form for the new custom Corvette, Americas Sports Car plate.

We need to have a state-wide pre-order of 350 plates for this to happen. Basically, you write a check to the address on the site (NOT to the DMV) and then they send in all 350 at one time. That will be enough for the DMV to produce the plates.

The plates are an additional $10 over standard plates. If you have a 6-digit or less personalized plate, the fee would be $20 (10 for the Vette plate and then 10 for the vanity tag), very standard DMV stuff. Hey, we blow that on more foolish things than this, right?

Here is the website:
http://www.vacorvetteplate.com/

You can download the form there and send it directly to the address on the site:

Corvette Club of Virginia, Inc.
PO Box 8331
Richmond, VA 23226

Make you check payalbe to "Corvette Club of Virginia- License Plate" when you do. Again, make sure you don't send this to the DMV directly, they won't know what to do with it.

Hopefully we will have a strong support in our club for this. I think from the feedback I got at last nights meeting, this is something people like. I will order mine this week too! Don and that BAAAD C6 Z06 takes the prize for being the first to submit in our club! If its good enough for that monster, its good enough my car!!

Cheers,
Cassidy

Thats the spirit!

I wonder if my wife would like one for the Mazda? [:D]

You can actually put these on anything you want...even (sigh) imports...

No, but you can tell them the car is garaged in Northern Virginia [:))]

Need me a PO BOX down there.... Went to TireVan and their site blocked me due to a PA Zip code..

And Mike-- when you say "garaged" would you be referring to a nice 3000 sq ft garage that she sits in now? [B-)]

oh I was kind of thinking we could work out an ARRANGEMENT. I'd make sure she got plenty of exercise during her winter hibernation. [:))] [:))]

Just to make sure...your present personalized tag info transfers to the new tag...otherwords you don't loose it and have to start over...simply pay the $20 fee.. Correct??

Michael,

Send Cassidy an email, I don't think he checks this forum very often. He should be able to answer your questions...

The fee for personalized plates is $20. If you only send $10, you'll get a regular numbered plate. I sent my $20 in to ensure I keep my personalized plate. [:)]

Sorry about that! I have been in Vegas racing Spring Mountain this week :)

Now, for the tags....if you have a six-digit or less vanity, that transfers if you pay the additional $10 ($20 total). It is my understanding that your info will be filled out on the form in the space provided. DO NOT cancel your current vanity tag, this should just process w/o any additional work on your end.

If you have a seven digit vanity, this tag won't work. It takes one of the digits in order to show the crossed flags.

Cheers!
Cassidy

Ok Guys and Gals,

Here's our big chance...so far the sign ups have been, well, er, not exactly spectacular. Bottom line, there is a contest for the most members of a club to join up and do the plate. If you go to

www.vacorvetteplate.com (http://www.vacorvetteplate.com) and read up you'll see its a pretty sweet deal. I know we are articulated with the NCM but this would be a pretty cool thing to stay around the club a while. Basically if you didn't want to renew the endorsement in a year, you'd get a regular tag back with your vanity number and keep this one for your garage (or basement) wall.

It should not be too hard to beat the number up there now.

Lets see what we can do!
