Looking for a few cars for a quick car show at Heritage High school on March 27th from 3:30 - 5:00pm. Austin Somersall, son of NVCC Membership director Pat Somersall, has asked me to bring my Spec Miata and would like a few other cars too.

How about some Mustangs from the Crossroads club? Where are all those Subarus, Ross? Is that Cougar Eliminator ready?

This is for the kids.

The setup is just before school lets out, so there will be alot of kids around.

I responded to Andrej's club email, but might as well post my response here in case it's not forwarded to you...

I can probably make it, but might be having an eye procedure the day before. If that happens, I will probably feel too lousy to go (it's somewhat painful). I have a neighbor/friend from NVMC with a '97 Cobra vert (signed by Shelby) that I can probably coax into coming with me, too, if you really need lotsa cars.

Will be able to let you know for sure on the Monday before, sorry for the late notice, but unfortunately that is the best I can do.

It's just a small after-school show at a high school. No trophies, no judging, just eye candy for the kids. He doesn't want a big show, but hasn't said what small is either. Right now we have 3 cars confirmed (1 Miata and 2 Vettes), that's still small to me.

School lets out at 3:40-ish. The start time of 3:30 is to have everyone in place before the kids get out that way you don't get run over by all the parents, oh and teenage drivers. There are about 1400 high school kids at Heritage.

With this many cars and the traffic in the parking lot, I recommend getting there about 3:15. I will be there to help guide as to where to park. The cars will be parked on the sidewalk or the grass along the sidewalk in front of the school.. Not to worry the side walks are large, I have had my Excursion parked on them while loading/unloading various items. [:D]

I am sorry guys but i am out ... tomorrow and thursday is going to rain and i NEED to work on my car before friday (I am going to VIR). I dont have a garage so my plans change with the weather [:(]

I was expecting working on the car tomorrow, but now i need to work on the car as soon as i leave work.

Sorry again.

This was a nice little show, we had 5 'Vettes (my C4, a Grand Sport, a C5 Z06, a C6, and a C6 Z06), a '97 Cobra, an '89 Porsche 944, and of course Andrej's spec Miata. The kids were great and had lots of questions about cars, racing, etc. They invited us inside for snacks after Andrej's presentation.

The weather was beautiful, couldn't have asked for a better day. [B-)] Thanks again for the invite, 'twas a good time.

I ended up working until 6pm.. my hands still hurt [:)] . Now the weather looks pretty good [:(] , but i couldnt risk not changing pads, oil and tires before the event.
