A reminder that the Fair Oaks Car Show is this Saturday...our club has been invited...

-Open to all makes and models from cars to cycles, for all ages. Prizes from a "best in show" and several others will be awarded with trophies and prizes at the show!

-Emphasis on fun for the whole family. It will have a carnival atmosphere with games and amusements for all the kiddies and refreshments will also be available there at the show. Silver Diner will be back with their infamous Shake Stand. Live bands will provide entertainment as well.

WHEN: Saturday, 5/6/06

-Show cars should arrive between 9AM - 11AM before the show starts. Show is from 11AM - 2PM. Detailing at the show is welcome before the show begins.

WHERE: Fair Oaks Church Parking Lot

-In Fairfax, VA at 4601 West Ox Rd. It's essentially on West Ox Road between Rt. 50 and 29 between Costco and the Silver Diner.

COST: Show car registration is FREE! You MUST pre-register at http://www.fairoakschurch.org or via telephone: 703-631-1112

-Food and beverages are on your own, available at the show. Proceeds from the food will be going to the students of Fair Oaks Academy for their graduating class.

RAIN DATE: Sunday May 7th from 3 to 6. Set up begins at 2 for the rain date.

CARAVAN LOGISTICS: Any members wishing to go as a group should meet at Newgate Plaza, at the corners of Routes 28 and 29 in Centreville, VA, at 10 AM, leaving at 10:15 AM SHARP. The event location is only a few minutes away.

Thanks to all the members who showed...nice to see everybody! Lots of nice vettes there, along with hot rods, some Lotuses, a Delorean (License tag "88 MPH"...no flux capacitor though), etc... Was able to recruit some possible new members and pass out Concours flyers.

Great weather, and although the shake stand from Silver Diner didn't end up working out, there was ice cream and funnel cakes to replace it.
