Where I used to live in NY, almost everyone waved. That's part of the fun of having a 'vette! Acknowledging each other's good taste in rides! [:D]

Here, it *seems* like very few people wave. Kind of disappointing because there are so many more vettes here being driven daily than back up north. Anyone else noticing this???

I love the 'vette comraderie; c'mon everybody, let's save the wave!

*gets off soapbox*[:">]

Seems like more and more people are buying the corvette because they can and not because the are familiar with the history, mistque, etc.

But you just gave me an idea! Why not get the club to put together a brochure about vettes. Get it out to all of the local Chevy dealers. Of course it would have info in it about the club, etc. The dealers could hand them out with the sales package.

That's a great idea, Mike! I'm all about the history of the 'vette and the whole 'vette culture in general. That's part of the reason why I bought the car. It's more than a hunk of fiberglass and metal to me...

You've got a valid point there. Maybe the people buying vettes now aren't members of vette clubs like this one and aren't as "into it". [:-?]

I remember reading another Corvette club's webpage and seeing information that answers the "Save the Wave" questions in nice detail.

Give me a couple of days; maybe I can locate that page and post the link here. We'll probably have to ask them to use the information though.

Do you have any ideas about the layout?

Have you seen the club trifold for the membership application? If we put something together like a mock-up to submit to the Council to give the general idea, they would probably go for it. I'm not sure if they need to print up new applications yet or not.

We have a guy in the club that works for Kinkos so he might be able to help a little.

How about a CD slide show with corvette history, what the corvette is all about and what corvette clubs are all about. We do have alot of PC Geeks here, it may cost less to make a CD

Blank CDs are real cheap, and DVDs are almost inexpensive.

It would be more expensive then printing after doing labels, sleeves, etc., but it might be worth the cost.

Put some mpegs with videos of autocrosses, concours, rallyes, etc., PDF of the club application.
