Yes, me again......

Thinking it might be a good idea to start up a list of mechanics/garages/etc... that specialize in (or do well for a reasonable price) certain Corvette repairs/maintenance issues. Just wanting to see if we can compile a list of places members have had good experiences with. Another member had an idea that maybe we can dedicate a forum or a page on the NVCC website for this purpose. We can even categorize the "vendors"; some ideas I had for categories:

Lube/Oil/Basic maintenance
Tires/Wheel issues
Brakes
Engine Rebuilds
Restoration/Paint
Mods
Electrical/Computer issues
etc...etc...

This is just a rough list, some things may kind of overlap. Perhaps someone can give some more insights. Thoughts?

Hey Brad, O Great Webmaster, think this is something doable?[:-/]

I was the other member LilRedCorvette was talking about (of course! [:D] )

It shouldn't be to difficult to create another Forum with a list of businesses and make it a sticky. Then people could respond based on their experiences with that business over time.

Okay, haven't seen any response to this other than from Mike...but I still would like to see this project happen. The only way is if everyone responds with their recommendations so I can compile a list...and perhaps we can get it onto the website and/or print form. Thinking it might be a valuable resource for the club.

Please help me out with your recs everyone, I am still relatively new to the area and the club for that matter, but I am willing to "organize" the info and put it out there for everyone's benefit.[:)]

I got my water pump and fuel pump replaced (78 L82) at the West Springfield Auto Care at the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road and Rolling Road. They charged $65 an hour plus parts. They may not be the Corvette experts, but did a very good job and do care about their clients.

If I'm lazy I take mine to the Jiffy Lube in Centreville on Rte 29 for oil/lube changes.

They have always done a good job, it was like $70 for Mobil 1 + filter along with everything else they do.

I try to do most of the basic maintenance stuff myself. Its been 2 years so she is getting plugs and coolant changes done over the 4th of July weekend. Those of us with Vaccum cleaners (C4's) need to clean out between the radiator and AC condenser often to get rid of the stuff that collects in there.

If I had something that needs done I'd take it to Koons and make sure Joe was the one to work on it. He is real good!
