Like I said in my PM, I don't need any more pulls on LilRed at the moment, could definitely use a baseline on the '89 but 1. it probably won't make it to Gaithersburg and 2. even if it did I'd be afraid the poor turd will blow up on the dyno.
Maybe when things improve financially for me, and the '89 is more reliable, I can partake next time.

As big as that site is I'm beginning to think that they are all waxers, and cruisers. I'm not getting much traffic about the HPDE on that site either. [:|]

I can always bring up LilRed to help save the event from being cancelled. It's only money! I don't need another pull on her but what the heck.
If there was a way to get the Turdmobile to Tony's then we could caravan both up there and I could get pulls on both vettes, so that would be two entries. However, the parking brake is stuck (it's been hard to set and disengage) and I don't know that the '89 can make it to the event, let alone make it through the pull. So there goes that idea...

What about the details make it a bad choice? You can contact Keith at Tonys Corvettes with your information if you prefer.
NOTE: We have participant #6. Its a 2006 Z06 owned by a guy named Ed on the Corvette Forum (1ED1).

I called Keith at Tonys Corvettes to discuss the need to reduce the $80 per car cost to $70 given the rates provided by other shops to make them competitive re: group rates for dyno day.

I don't make the rules... Keith said cash would be preferred, but I doubt he would turn away credit cards or checks. [\:D/]
Here is the planned sequence for the dyno (each car will take approx. 45 minutes):
(1) Bob - 1990 Corvette ZR-1
(2) Mike Sarver - 2004 Z06
(3) Michael Higgins - 2004 C5
(4) Arthur Baer - 2004 C5
(5) Jeff Ajaste - C5
(6) Michael Rierson - 2005 C6
(7) Ben Duling - 2005 C6
(8) Ed - 2006 Z06
I need to organize the group by C4, C5, C6 and ZR1. Also, please check your oil level and have more than 1/2 tank of gas. Thanks!

WOW - what a great time! Excellent high-tech dyno facility supported by a knowledgeable, caring and professional staff.
If you haven't visited Tony's Corvettes - I highly recommend you do so. This was my first experience there and I'll be coming back. It was great meeting a couple Corvette Forum members at this event too.
The TC team is also providing each individual with their own CD-ROM, which contains their dyno results and software so they can examine the details of their setup, etc. (NOTE: Please ensure you provided Keith your mailing address).
You get what you pay for and these guys don't cut any corners. They treat your vette as if they owned it themselves. Special thanks to Keith, Bob and Jose
I will be posting the results soon. [B-)]

Great pics Michael!! Seeing is believing. $80 (normally $120) was a great deal for us. I would definitely go back again for a club event. Dyno numbers aren't worth much if they're not accurate!
We had 2 dyno pulls per vehicle to determine the best rear wheel horsepower and torque - some got their best numbers on their first run while others on their 2nd. The dyno facility allowed us to "Dyno Race" by overlaying individual results for comparison between two cars. See results below.
Michael Higgins 2004 C5 ECS 385 Stroker (2nd Run)
SAETrq: 456.3 Clb-ft @4535 RPM
SAEPwr: 449.5 CHp @6190 RPM
Ed Duling 2005 C6 403 Lingenfelter (2nd Run)
SAETrq: 441.6 Clb-ft @4538 RPM
SAEPwr: 451.1 CHp @6055 RPM
Ed Davis 2006 Z06 - Stock (2nd Run)
SAETrq: 415.7 Clb-ft @4829 RPM
SAEPwr: 441.4 CHp @6310 RPM
Mike Rierson 2005 C6 Lingenfelter (1st Run)
SAETrq: 358.8 Clb-ft @4830 RPM
SAEPwr: 401.5 CHp @6341 RPM
Mike Sarver 2004 Z06 - Stock (1st Run)
SAETrq: 350.6 Clb-ft @4734 RPM
SAEPwr: 354.0 CHp @6227 RPM
Bob Saveland 1990 Corvette ZR-1 - Stock (2nd Run)
SAETrq: 299.9 Clb-ft @4129 RPM
SAEPwr: 235.9 CHp @4132 RPM

You should be pretty happy with those numbers Mike. I'd like to see the graph when you get the CD.
I would also like to know what mods where done to which cars. Just from what I saw of the graphs when they were doing the runs, I'd say there were some mighty $$$$$ mods that were done by LPE that need to go back for some tuning.
I was a little surprised at the numbers the 06 Z06 put down. I was expecting a little more torque out of it.
AlohaC5
03-19-2006, 09:43 PM
Hey Mike - Yes, I'm very happy with my numbers and will post my dyno graph once I get my CD. I think the '06 Z06 and C6 Lingenfelter vette owners were a little surprised by my lil' 385 stroker. [;)]
The dyno run with EFI-Live identified some issues on my current tune, which will gain me a few more hp/tq and run safer on the road courses. I have an apointment with them next week, and will repost my numbers and graph then too. [>:)]
Keith said he would mail everyone their CD-ROM with dyno graph and software to read the details of their setup. I believe he has most of them, so those that participated and didn't provide me their info - please contact Keith.
I agree it would be better for everyone to post their dyno graphs because I noticed that the numbers provided by Bob are based on RPMs, which may not necessary reflect peak, i.e., we know the ZR-1 peaked at approx. 330 hp.
I also expected to see better torque numbers from the new Z06 with its 427... We could have had 5 more cars participate. Perhaps next time we can coordinate a Corvette/Mustang Dyno Day with a local club!

I got my CD in the mail today. Kind of a nice 'extra'.
Kind of interesting what you can do with the software as far as viewing the numbers, doing overlays between runs, etc.
SAETrq: 350.6 Clb-ft @4734 RPM
SAEPwr: 357.3 CHp @6266 RPM
I wanted to attach the files but Brad still hasn't set the max size of file attachment to anything larger than 1024 bytes!

Mike - Nice numbers for a stock Z06. I received my CD today too. Great application to examine and display dyno results for both SAE and STP. A real bonus for the event. Here are my numbers:
SAETrq: 456.2 @ Clb-ft 4558 RPM
SAEPwr: 445.0 @ CHp 5763 RPM
STPTrq: 474.5 @ Clb-ft 4558 RPM
STPPwr:463.0 @ CHp 5768 RPM
Its great seeing my max numbers in the 4500 to 5800 RPM range. High and flat torque curve. I hit 400 rwtq from 2500 thru 6000 RPMs.
My shift light comes on at 6000 RPM and redlines at 6500 RPM - easy on the valvetrain. I'm looking forward to posting the result of the new dyno-tune next week.

Mike - when you're viewing your dyno graph, push the "Print Screen" button on your computer, open the Microsoft Paintbrush application and PASTE the graph into the application. You can crop the picture out and save as a .jpg file. Upload the .jpg file to a free photo service like George suggested to host and post it. Or you can email me your .DAT file and I'll convert it for you and email it back.

Actually what I was wanting to do was swap .DAT files with you and overlay our numbers to compare the curves.
I'm interested in comparing the differences and where your mods produce the biggest increase to stock.

SWEET Mike! That's pretty 100 ft lbs. consistent across the board torque-wise. It's going to be really nice to drive on the track like that.
It's interesting that there is only like 50hp difference right up to about 4400rpms and then it picks up another 50hp for about 100hp and stays that way to the end.
You'll have to tell me exactly what you have in there for mods when we get a chance. (cam profile, heads, rocker ratios, etc.)
