NVCC Members,

One of the things that I want to do is work on getting more benefits available for the members of the club. This hopefully will result in more sponsors, more events, and more publicity for not only the club, but make hopefully offer some additional services and price breaks to our members.

Although I have several thing in mind, the other day I was speaking to someone who was asking, "what is required for me to get into a Credit Union?" Well, I asked my Credit Union, and it possible for the Club to setup a deal with them, so that as a member of the NVCC, our members can join the Corporate America Credit Union. So my question to you, the members, is:

Is it worthwhile for me to pursue this venture, and set this up?

Let me know..thanks :)

It sure wouldn't hurt to find out what the requirements are and what the benefits are. The deal with TireRack worked out good so I say go for it!

I personally don't need a credit union benefit (have a couple already) but the group purchase discounts are always much appreciated!

Would also like to see some "official" sponsorship by some vendors and garages (places we can get mods installed at a discount).

I'm with MagRedVette on this one...

I don't need a credit union but bring on the club discounts and vendor sponsorships!

Lol...err...ok folks...here's the twist. The council cant just think of everything and do it...the MEMBERS need to get involved in some of this and do SOME of the work. If there's something in particular you're thinking of, do some legwork and bring it to the council. This is a club...that means we are ALL in this together, and therefore up to everyone to be working to better the club as a whole.

The ball is back in your court :)

badaz06-

I don't think anyone expects the council to do *everything*. I think people are just responding to your post with their opinions on what they would like to see happening as far as member benefits go. [:D]

Judging from the helpfulness I've seen on these boards, I am confident that there will be no problem with members coming up with and following through with ideas.

Thats what I was expecting to hear...sorry if I miscommunicated.

The council can only act on things brought to it's attention. The Members of this club see and interact with such a large array of businesses and corporations, vendors, people, etc., that I never see of have thought of. That's why I'm solicitiing the club members for help here.

This just doesnt help me....it helps everyone, from the business owner who's doing a great job and getting recognition that they deserve, to the individual submitting and recommending the business, to the individuals who may be looking for a service and weren't sure where to turn.

I'd really love to see this take off.

I think it will take off. And I am very excited about it. Everyone here so far has been very helpful and welcoming! [:)]

Jeff,

I have talked with several Corvette Club members from all over the country. One major benifit that most club members enjoy and keeps them in the club and makes more members join is the "Shop Night" or "Shop Day" at the dealership that sponsors them. They also seem to have a much closer relationship with their sponsors. Notice I said Sponsors, not limited to just one. The Captical CC over in Maryland that meets at Criswell has an extremely close relationship that provides the club many benifits.

I had to bring this up again, but I think we need to look at our association with Koons. Many people will not join because of our relationship with Koons. Other then providing us a meeting Room,
what does Koons really provide us? Are they going to help sponsor our Concours this year? Don and I doubt it...as you notice they are not even considered on the budget for the show.

We need a change away from Koons...this is my thought. Even that will not be the complete answer, visit other Corvette Club Web sites, read their Newsletters and current events, and soon you will see they have many different events, but still the participation is low.

A little twist with this, why don't we meet (the Council) with other local Corvette Clubs and see what events the clubs can do together. If we get fresh ideas, I think people will show up.

Second, lets go for the Associate members, or the "Future Corvette Owners: kids who like Corvettes... I think we need to consider this.

Just my thoughts.... [:D]
