Damn Collin, it's looking real nice! I hope it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Actually it was reasonable, they had to install a complete 63 wire harness, as the dash was wired with individual wires. So I go a complete new wire harness with firewall insulation added, and I am very happy with Corvette Specialties work and knowledge of the restoration process.[:D] [:D]

I checked out their web site and they seem to be top notch. It was just the prices that scared me. Of course I haven't seen another shop's prices to compare them.

I'm looking forward to Spring to see all of the new editions you're working on this winter.

Oh, did you go with the plastic or the glass covers for the gauges?

I decided to go to glass, vice back to the OEM plastic. Plastic fades and scratches so easily. I also went with the quartz clock vice the mechanical. Draws less power and is more reliable. OK so I am not pure NCRS, but I feel better knowing the amount of money I am spending will provide better results.

As far as the prices...I learned recently, very recently, you pay for what you get during restoration. No such thing as a short cut, or somebody who is going to save you money. You pay for craftsmanship, and people who know older Corvettes. Don't want to go into it here, but trust me, I learned a very expensive and valuable lesson on this restoration.[;)]

That's the way I would have gone but I didn't know if your were going to go for NCRS or not.

I like the idea of setting it back to original, but the idea of replacing stuff you know is going to fail or look bad shortly just makes sense to me.

Also I don't think anyone except an NCRS 'fanatic' [:)] would know the difference by looking anyway.

Cheers!

BTW, when can I get a ride? [:D]

Man, that is gorgeous....

What is their e-mail address and location? I am still rather new to the area (3 yrs) and want to start jotting a list down of reliable corvette mechanics/restorers/etc... TIA

They have a Web Site, but no much info on it, the owners name is Brian....please tell him you are a member of the NVCC and mention my name Collin. I am trying to get him to be a sponsor for the Concours show this spring.

They do a lot of other work, full garage with a very very experienced staff. I am very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of their work. Very Impressed, and their prices are very reasonable. Rember you get what you pay for.....
