All,

I have just been approached about bringing 15 of our cars and representing our club at the 18th Annual Haymarket Day (3rd Saturday of September). The event is from 9AM - 4PM and the town of Haymarket would give us a space at Battlefield High School on Rt. 15 to park 15 of our cars to show, with possibly a parade for us to be in. It draws in roughly 10,000 people every year and would be good publicity for our club.

There are plenty of vendors, food concessions, and live entertainment will be present as well. There is NO charge for this event and they are excited for us to be there!

Please let me know if you can support this event...I will coordinate the caravan out to Haymarket. Am awaiting details as to when they need us there (possibly 8AM), etc...at this point I need willing club members to volunteer to participate in this event. Please, let's make a good showing of the NVCC!

Will be taking the first 15 who reply...thanks.

Haymarket Day is way [B-)] ! I grew up there, and remember when Haymarket had only one stop sign! It said WOA! ( Actually it was a horse crossing that went over Old Carolina road. [:))] [:D]

Laurie, is this limited to 15 Corvettes or are we aloud to have more?

Are you taking the banner, and do we need walkers for that?

We are limited to 15 cars.

Like I stated in my first post, the parade is not a definite yet (the show however, IS), so I may or may not need walkers for the banner. Will keep peeps posted as I receive info.

Yes there is...and thank you!

Need 2 more cars, please. With 122 members, getting 15 cars total together for a show shouldn't be this hard. Please consider volunteering your car and time for this, it would be great publicity for the club...and a good time to boot!

Thanks, all. [:)]

If they wanted to donate 50 gallons of premium fuel to my favorite charity (my race car) I would be happy to. [:D]

Hmmm. Interesting.
I'd like to say YES, but the Air Force has other trips for me all of a sudden. Not sure if I'll be back before next weekend.

Have fun out there! [**==]

Alright, folks, this is coming up in a week. Still could use 2 more cars.

Please meet at 7:15 AM in Newgate Plaza, at the corner of Routes 28 and 29 in Centreville. We will have a brief driver's meeting and will be leaving at 7:30 AM SHARP! Directions to the caravan start point are as follows:

Take Route 66 to Exit 53A to Route 28 South and then take the Route 29 South Exit, immediately turning right into the parking lot. There is a Mobil gas station and Joann's Fabrics in this plaza. Please be sure to gas up/restroom/coffee/etc before we leave.

This will be a show representing the NVCC, no parade, so please come and show Haymarket who we are!

Laurie,

*If* you don't see me in Centreville in the morning, you will most likely see me waiting to meet you in Haymarket. If I am not in Haymarket, then I am having problems. I just had a new chip put in and I had it stall on me last night, so I am a little leary right now. But I am free as a bird tomorrow. I said I would be there. I hope that Mother Nature and Ophielia are kind. My niece who lives in Haymarket says this event is a blast!

Mark, great photos, thank you for sharing!

We had a good-weather day...11 NVCC vettes came out and showed their stuff. Kudos to those who came out early on a Saturday morning; thank you for your committment, you really did a fine "PR" job for the club!

We will be invited back next year, by then the folks running the event should have most of the kinks out and should be even bigger and better!

Laurie, Erica said that her and Anna had a great time. Sorry I couldn't make it out, I completely forgot about the HPDE meeting being on the same day.
