Mike & Ralph,
Let me know what you guys decide as to how many days your staying, departure date & time, etc. If I go, I may drive up to Northern VA and meet up with you and then follow you on up to BeaveRun. -Jack-

Sounds good Jack! [B-)]
I forget what time we left last year. Its about a 5 hour trip not counting stops from here to there. I think it took us about 5 1/2 hours last year. I'd like to get in between 5 and 6 pm to get a good spot and get set up.
There is a small mall just off Braddock Rd and the Beltway were we can meet. There is a gas station (pit stop) and I think a convience store.
James Anderson and Bill Linton are both planning on going as well.

Be forewarned, Jack. Last year, James & Bill stopped more than they would have ordinarily. Mike & Ralph have cleared the 50 year mark, and their prostates influence the number of stops.

LOL, I dont remember it being THAT many more stops.
I'll be registering for Group 2 in a couple weeks, though I
think I'll only be able to pull off sat-sun.

Hey! I just wanted to stop and stretch my legs and check out the scenic overlooks. [:))]
Everyone needs to remember to bring a 2nd set of pads (especially you guys driving) They don't have to be new but should have enough left to get you home safely.
A used set of front rotors wouldn't be a bad idea either if you have them laying around. As Ralph and John T can attest, BeaveRun can be HELL on brakes. [:(]

Hey Mike, are you signing up for Group 3 or are you going to instruct? It looks like if you're instructing, you have to instruct for all three days. I guess I'll bite the bullet and pay for Sat and Sun and run group 3.

Group 3 it is then. If by any chance I decide to stick around on Monday (doubtful), I'll ask them if they need an another instructor.
What time do you want to leave of Friday then?
Jack, how long does it take for you to drive up here?
How does leaving here between 11:00 and 12:00 sound? (Try to beat the weekend traffic out I-270 I-70)

Probably closer to Dave. Might try hooking up with ya'll at Breezewood.
If you're leaving around noon It will probably be around 3 when you make it there. Are you taking your cell phone?
I checked out the Turnpike web page looks like EasyPass/ Smart Tag works on the Turnpike. That will be cool.

Okay Jack is going to meet us at the shopping center on the corner of Braddock Rd and Port Royal Rd about 10:30 Friday morning. We'll be pulling out at 11:00am sharp.
James has registered and unless something changes will meet us at Breezewood.

Well it looks like BeaveRun is filling fast and I still haven't received a response from Lawrence about being able to instruct for 2 days instead or three. To make sure we get in, I think we should bite the bullet and sign up for either Group 3 or Group 4. What do you all (Mike S., Rick, Jack) think?

Unless someone less checks in, it looks like it will be you, Dave Rankin, Jack McAfee, Ralph and me. Dave will probably be staying at his mom's place again. Jack, Ralph and I are planning on camping at the track in the tow vehicles.

Is the link @ http://www.racenasa.com/Schedule_OHINRegion05.htm? There's not much info there (i.e., reg, cost, etc.)
I found some reg info @ https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_event/show/?event_id=276 . Is that the correct location?
Thanks! [\:D/]

The $285 is for any two days ( Sat & Sun or Sun & Mon). It's a great little track. Are you planning on going?

I'm thinking about registering for HPDE 1 (Saturday and Sunday) and joining you guys! I see there is still space on the NASA registration page for this event. How does this track compare to the Jefferson circuit at Summit Point? I'll be going solo and meeting Janet at her folks place in NJ on Monday for the holiday.

Thinking seriously about it. Not sure if I'll go up to eastern PA and visit my family that holiday weekend though. I'm still going through withdrawl from my CarGuys.com weekend at VIR. [8-}]

ked...I looked for you @ VIR, but I didn't see a C5 w/ VA plates. There were some fast cars there. I know what you mean about wearing the tires. I corded my left front by my last session.
Aloha, you can't compare BeaveRun w/ the Jefferson course. It is more comparable to Summit main. Not as great an elevation change, though.
We may see levettegrl, also from WV, and probably Bill's instructor from last year.
Already changed my rotors, waiting on a tire.

Is the plan to still meet at the shopping center (what's the name?) on the corner of Braddock Rd and Port Royal Rd about 10:30 Friday morning to head out at 11:00am sharp?
I had an awesome time at VIR and looking forward to another excellent time with the track rats. Now I just need to get a room. James - I'll share a room if space is still available.

Ok, just called the Conley Inn where Bill and I stayed last year and made reservations. Room for Friday night and Saturday is $68 per night, $34 per person. If you want to stay Sunday night its an additional $48. I won't be staying Sunday night, I'm going to my parents place Sunday after dinner.

Looks like the car gods are still against me. Coming back from Carlisle and a side visit over to the Phila., PA area, I hit a pothole or whatever on I-95 that seriously thwacked my LR wheel well, buckling the plastic liner and ripping a portion of it out from one of the screw attach points. The plastic is now less than an inch from the tire at two points. [:O] [X-(] Hopefully, all I need to do is replace the liner and some screws.
Needless to say, even if I wanted to (and was allowed to still sign up), I think this event is toast for me. [:(]
Tonight's job: assess the damage and see what I need to order.
(I also think this is the last straw for keeping my car lowered. Yes, it helps with handling on the track, but I think the car is now stock ride-height bound.)
