WHEN: Sunday, August 14th, 2005
10:00 AM - start gathering at cruise start point - Burke Lake Park Golf Course Parking Lot
Due to the terrific response at the last one and requests for more, we have planned another Hopsfrog brunch event, plus a NEW cruise route to add to the fun. Brunch hosted by Dan Kinney, a new NVCC member and also known as c2washington here on our forum, and our friendly cruise host is 'Callaway Chris', also known as 89x2 here on our forum. Information is as follows:
WHEN: Sunday, August 14th, 2005
10:00 AM - start gathering at cruise start point - Burke Lake Park Golf Course Parking Lot
10:25 AM - quick driver's meeting/map hand-outs
10:30 AM - depart for cruise
11:00 AM - arrive at Hopsfrog Tavern for brunch
Hopsfrog Tavern's Sunday Brunch is $12.95 + drink + tax + tip.
Please bring CASH - $18.00 per person

Burke Lake Park Golf Course Parking Lot is near the intersection of Route 123 and Burke Lake Road - this is the cruise meeting place prior to brunch.
Or, if you wish to attend brunch only, directions to Hopsfrog are as follows:
From I-495 - Take the Braddock Exit (Ext. 5 - Rt. 620 West)
Go approx. 5 miles to Rt. 123 (Ox Rd.)
Turn left on Burke Centre Parkway (approx. 1/2 mile)
Hopsfrog Tavern is on left (hard to miss!)

Hey folks - you need to put something on the events page that tells people where to meet! I've been waiting to hear something in my email - next choice was to keep checking events page. We're getting close, so today I had to spend time to try to figure out how to get to where you all were discussing the event - miracle of miracles it has information & I'm assuming we're meeting at Burke Lake Golf Course again. But for those that don't have time to go surfing - can you update events page to show meeting location? Thanks.

Laurie, I'm going to try and make it. If we get everything moved from my Dad's on Saturday I'll be there.
And for those that want to know the meeting place and time, its in the first post on the thread. Having it on the main page is a good idea as well.

Simple... Put the meeting place and time as the first sentence or two in the first post of the thread.
Everytime someone posts a new response, the first post in the thread appears on the front page of the web site. Scroll Down its under Latest Forum Threads.

Folks, yes, we are indeed going to start at the Burke Lake Golf Course parking lot for this [B-)]
That lot is nice, clean, and (mostly) shaded [B-)]
While the route is changed up slightly based upon the feedback from the last one, it is actually set to be a bit tighter requiring the use of 1st and 2nd gears for a decent part of the cruise.
Remembering that it is a Sunday cruise, not a race event or timed trial, bring your FRC Radios if you have 'em - this should be a lot of fun and a very nice drive!
Map is drawn up and LilRed94 will be handing them out at the starting point - we will have a quick drivers meeting to address any questions - See you tomorrow a.m. [B-)]

Judy, the attendance/RSVP list that I post in every event thread is continually updated. It is on page one of this thread. I am not going to keep posting it over and over when when I can just update one list!
As far as RSVPs, just tell me who is going and let me worry about _________&__________ stuff.
That being said, list updated.

Hey LilRed, we made it back from our 3 week road trip to Calgary, Alberta (that's Canada, eh!). Is it too late to sign up for the Sunday Cruise and Brunch? If not, please include Zoel & I. I guess we haven't done enough driving yet!

Thanks to all who came out...we had 13 people for the cruise/brunch and a few more who showed up for the brunch only at Hopsfrog. The cruise that Chris put together was great...had an even better flow than the last one, and we stayed together as a group for the most part on the roads. Family radios are a big help!
Thank you, Chris and Dan, for your continual work on these great cruise/brunches. Maybe one more before the end of the year? October/November to close out the season......

I think that would be great. While 85+ degree weather is great for grip, it can be a little draining on the drivers. A cooler weather get-together sounds ideal.

That is a Rallye event, with brunch afterward. If you wish to do a brunch cruise, then perhaps anytime May and beyond.
Like I said - please check the month to month calendar (I have the entire year pretty much scheduled) so that you can find a date that works for you in May/June/whatever and so that we can plan this well in advance. Thanks!
