Way to go, Bill.
Now the Montero problem is solved.
It may not be a Vette, but those Mustangs do have a sweet exhaust sound.

You all are MISSING the point here! If a Yugo is a PoC then what is a BMW, IMO? {oh and BTW, even the Germans know that it isn't a bimmer [which would be pronounced BIM MER], its a beamer [pronounced BEE MER] geeze! [:(]

Gotta explain EVERYTHING around here [:p]

And all of the BMW fan paraphernalia I've seen has it spelled it as Bimmer. I don't agree with that spelling, it's just what I've seen...besides, I got it a vanity plate of "BEEM-RRR" in protest of it [:))]

Not in our case [;)] We test drove a BMW, a Benz, and a Jag. I preferred the Jag, hub liked the BMW. The Benz was disappointing; and the salesman was an a-hole so that took that car out of the mix fairly quickly.

Update on the vehicle.

April 9th : Took Possesion
April 14th : Took the car back to CARMAX to have Passanger
side window repaired ( was off the track ), Drivers side
fog lamp replaced, and a stereo crackle looked into.

April 15th : They call and tell me the windows fixed, the
fog lamp is fixed but they broke the cover on one of
the speakers and the parts wont be in till monday.
I tell them to keep it till its fixed right.

April 18th : I pick up the car after hours, I roll the window
up and down once to check it, fog light works, and
they say they cant find the stereo crackle.

April 19th: I take the car to LA Tint to get the window
tinted, first thing they do is roll the window down,
well its breaks again, I guess i was just lucky last night.
I cant take the car back to Carmax today since I have
a out of state trip with the family planned this weekend and
I cant afford for them to keep the car for 3-4 more days.

April 21st: Drive down to North Carolina
April 22cd: Right front wheel starts squeeking like a bearing
is going bad.
April 23rd : Drive back to VA with squeeky right front wheel.

April 25th : Take the Mustang into CARMAX to get the window
fixed and the right front bearing replaced.

April 26th : Carmax calls and says its not the bearing, the rotor
is warped ( funny it felt smooth on the outside, but whatever ).

April 27th : Carmax cant figure out whats wrong with the window
and call in a 'glass specialist' to look at it.

April 28th : Glass Specialist cuts his hand open on my window
so they need to have someone else come out and fix it.

April 29th : New Glass Guy figures out whats wrong and has
them order parts, supposedly the parts will arrive
on Monday May 2cd.

May 3rd : supposedly the parts arrived.

May 4th : They fix the window ( supposedly ) and they
turn the rotors and put ceramic pads on...

May 5th: They send it out so the passanger side window can
be retinted since they had to replace the glass.

Because of all the problems with the glass we decided to run a
CARFAX on it to see if we just bought a problem ( supposedly
carmax will not sell a car with frame damage )

CARFAX
1. ACCIDENT CHECK reports...
It was at a service facility after an accident and possible frame damage was reported.

At this point they've had the car 17 out of 28 days we've
'owned' the car, My wife has driven the loaner car more than
the actual car and at this point doesnt even want to see it
again.

Tommorrow I have an appointment to talk to the manager
and Im going to try and give them the car back and either
get my money back or baring that get something else.

Bill,

All's well that ends well I guess.

The General Manager for the Sterling Carmax called me on friday
to see what I would like to do. I told him my wife never wanted
to see the mustang again, they agreed to take it back
and either refund the money or put it torwards the purchase
of another.

We arrived early on saturday and I meet with the GM and the
salesman who initially sold me the car, we breifly went over the paperwork and then my wife went and test drove several
vehicles. BMW, Cadillac STS, Lincoln LS, Lincoln Towncar but ended up buying a 2001 Supercharged Bonneville SSEi.

They where very appoligetic throught the entire ordeal the GM
checked in on us every 20-30 minutes to make sure we where
getting all the help we needed, and even bought us lunch
( they have chick-fil-a there on saturdays ). Overall I have to say
Im happy with how they reacted to this situation and my wife
couldnt be happier with the car she bought.

The manager also offered to pay for the wife and I to go out to
dinner on carmax's tab for all the trouble we've been through
up to $100.

No complaints, and I wouldnt hesitate to buy there again, Just
make sure you get a copy of the carfax before you sign.

From what I was told they pull an 'Autosource' and a Carfax
the carfax we got said 'possible' frame damage the autosource
apparently said nothing so they dismissed it ( the vehicle
was purchased initially at Laurel so the Sterling Carmax
wasnt the ones to pull the info ).

Once I mentioned it to them and they pulled thier own
carfax on it they offered to buy it back.

I feel like they did. Basicly they did what I would do If I owned
the joint and had a customer with a problem.

btw its not autosource they use Autocheck, brains a bit foggy lol.
