View Full Version : Do we join the MWCSSC?

The MWCSSC is looking for clubs / groups to join them in hosting autocrosses. Andrej brought this up a month or so ago. I've been hearing some interesting rumours about this.

Supposedly they supply the equipment (cones, timing, etc.), the insurance and the location (Rosecroft) and each club is responsible for hosting one or two events each season. Now the interesting piece is that the hosting club gets the proceeds. They are responsible for paying the track rental (~$700) but the rest is theirs. Should be about $1000-$1200 an event.

Again, this is just hearsay, but if its correct, one or two events would go a long way towards paying for a trailer for the club.

It is my understanding that they are putting the schedule together for next season already. If we want to do something about this, we should move on it.

First, good job posting this to e-mail and on the forum. [:D] This forum is a much better place to discuss this rather than through e-mail.

Second, yes, if what you heard is true I think it's a no brainer. With income from two MWCSCC events and us hosting two open autocrosses at ODS (not affiliated with MWCSCC) we should be able to buy a bomb trailer. I think Woods paid $4k for his and that was brand new.

Someone needs to attend their next meeting.

I agree. The only way we can get all of the details we will need to make an informed decision.

I've gotten 10 positive responses on this. I've asked Don Kerndt, Jim Beaupre, and Andrej Balanc to attend the next MWCSSC meeting with me to get the actual details.

Their next meeting is Monday evening at 8pm. So far Andrej has responded that he will attend with me. We will present what we come up with at the Council meeting Tuesday evening. As always the Council meeting is open to any member that wishes to attend.

Mike, I have an appointment at 7pm tonight so I can't make it to the MWSCC meeting but will be at the council meeting Tues nite.
